This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for making this. A compatibility patch for CACO would be quite nice, to replace some of the added foods' effects and such with effects more along the line of this mod's effects. Otherwise, thank you
Compatibility patches for skytest and skybirds. Don't feel comfortable making a patch for wyrmstooth since A) the mod author wanted it taken down and B) lots of people report corrupted saves and other issues. Feel free to make your own though. For duration, 600 seconds for food, 120 seconds for drinks. For magnitude, use whatever feels right to you. You can get an idea by reading through the txt files bundled with the mod.
I nerfed cheese a bit; it was definitely a little OP. I know this mod is not perfectly balanced but do you have any particular soups or stews in mind that seem underpowered?
I just got done looking at over a dozen food overhauls, and yours was the best approach I found. No clumsy edits to health regen that break other effects, no overpowered buffs, no ridiculous added recipes or random rare ingredients that don't make sense in Skyrim.
Thank you for the addition to my "minimalist survival mods" playthrough. :D
Any chance of making a CACO version? Usually the food effects are inconsequential or too limited (or effectively make the food useless like alcohol which often has way too many debuffs) but this actually gives a nice boost for a reasonable amount of time with acceptable downsides. Your mod finally seems to strike a nice balance that a lot of food mods have been missing!
any plan to have an effect of only a food item and drink item at a time? If one can stack the effects, it will be too OP and broken very interesting mod Ty
Honestly, I like the idea of a "well-balanced diet" leading to a robust suite of bonuses. Keep in mind if you eat the same exact food item, it will reset the timer, not double your bonus. I do aim to create a balanced mod so going forward I may make it so that only one food group effect can be activated at a time. Right now, I don't feel like this mod is too unbalanced. If anything, I am thinking of increasing the strength of some of the Fortify Effects especially for cooked meat.

Anyone have a suggestion for load order, which one works best for you?
The only mod I can think of that I have that touches food is Vokrii, Growl & Sacrilege
edit: they would for consistency sake. should be pretty easy to make, if you tell me the appropriate magnitude and duration.

Thanks for the Feedback
