I have seen people where asking for screenshots, I didn't use screenshots since the reflections are more noticable in video form which is why I uploaded videos. Guess I should explicitly mention it on the mod description.
I figured out it was the bLandSpecular ini. For some reason my game freaked out with that disabled. I figured out though that you can just make all the normals in the textures folder into blank transparencies, and that works pretty good.
If I want all the fixes, do I need to download both version 3.0 and the 4.0 file? I only had the 4.0 file. Or do i need to download the main file and every old file and merge them in order. I noticed 4.0 only had 3 textures in and so it has me wondering what crossover the other files do/don't have with each other. Thanks.
I realized that most of the old texture edits weren't needed when the ini tweaks are loaded, with the exception of a few ice textures. So I cut them to reduce file size.
my snow (not all) actually im not even sure its snow... but with this mod patch activated its like dark moving static all over the area at angles less than 90 degrees. Likem when the camera is right above me its not hardly there. When the camera is at a lower angle to the ground it's like black snowy fuzz. I dont know how to explain it. I did as the instructions say and it's still there. It does solve the ground shine, so i want it... but that black mess on some snowy surfaces makes it suck so bad its unplayable.
This issue should be fixed now with the 4.0 version of this fix. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, since I haven't played in the ice regions yet I didn't notice it was still broken.
I believe there must be some screenshots to show what you have changed. Saying "removed the reflective surface" is just not enough because there is no way I know what overreflects the light or not.
If you want to see the difference, try ASO without this mod, and go look at the mud on the stream leading to Whiterun. It shines in a blinding way. With this mod, it looks normal. I really does work. There is another mod called YeOlde Oil Paint, which is a take on for Artistic Skyrim Overhaul Oil, but I like the original better. That mod does have the shade files, or whatever you call them, for everything, but it creates more for my laptop to load, which slows things down. Also, his version is a bit more defined, and I like the original better. It is good though, because he has a mod that covers Immersive Armor. The SE verion of Oil has the wrong Bandoliers and Capes version, from Pixar. You should grab the originals on the LE page, or they will be an eyesore.
Anyway, Ezio, thank you! You made my favorite texture mod even better.
Thank you so much for this! I run skyrim on my laptop with integrated graphics and aso is the only way i get consistent frame rates lol now i dont have to put up with the shine :P
What enb is that youre using?
Edit: Nevermind i just found it. it's a nice preset nice job on it.
