Those people as you say haven't been on since may 2021. It was shared for free and stuff did happen around the world in that time remember? So go ahead and make one updated and better, or stay on the build it works for, if not move on!

Asking money for a minimap for a 12 years old game, a work in progress mod probably full of bugs and incompatible with a lot of mods, with no update for 3 months, while the biggest modders here are sharing their mods for free ...
I don't like it being paywalled either not to mention it's prolly dead by this point but none of said biggest modders you've mentioned are working on a minimap for AE, heck NO ONE is working on a minimap and it absolutely does not help that Felisky never shared the damn source code which means he's the only one that could update it but won't smh

Nah, it's not worth downgrading the entire game just to use some abandoned mod, otherwise let's all just go back to LE with all of it's memories issues just because it has "more mods" including some pretty neat that have been abandoned for almost ten years now. LOL As cool as some mods may be, if it's not updated to, at least 1.6.640 (the most recent stable version of the game, I wouldn't tell anyone to update to 1130 or 1170 as of now for obvious reasons), it means it's abandoned, so any bugs/issues the user may have will not be supported or fixed by the auhor, not to mention, while most authors still try to cather to the 1.5.97 players, some simply refuse to make backport their mods, meanwhile a bunch of abandoned SE mods were updated to commonlib. The only reason why this one haven't been updated yet is closed permissions.
You demand additional work from a modder without payment to make a technical change for sales reasons more attractive to you ? Complain to Bethesda, not here.
For one shut it, Dreifels. Nothing wrong with not downgrading a whole game to use one mod while losing your entire modlist in the progress(Because most current mods doesn't work with SSE). So complain elsewhere
Anyway.... the new Minimap mod isnt dead. Still getting worked on rn as we speak(recent update was on March 24th) and the author is making some serious progress. Still a bit away from full release but we got something!
Unfortunately it doesn't work entirely for 1.5.97 without issues. For example this mod is the culprit for the game freezing in understone keep 100% of the time when used with Lux, might be causing freezes in other locations too, not sure.
Please reveal the source code of this mod to people, and allow people to reverse-engineer it for AE.
To me the most important element is the Fully Colored Local Map. There is still no mod to make Local Map fully colored, original monochrome local map is very incomprehensible. Please share how to make remove momochrome filter from vanilla Local Map!
unfortunately no, it will not do anything, it was never updated because the creator never wanted to update it, and worse, nerve shared the source code so others could update it

I get it, if they share great, but they don't have to and don't owe anyone anything, modding is a labor of love and IF they decide to share, great and if they don't oh well move on... The nerve!! Btw why don't you go ahead and make a better updated equivalent like they did with his DAR mod? No complaints, someone saw it wasn't getting updates and made OAR, simple. ps: we also don't know what actually happen to the modder for all we know could be alive or not, hasn't been on nexus since 2021...so there is that.
Such a good mod but goddamn does it cause a lot of freezes with a heavy modded Skyrim modlist like Nolvus (specially in heavy places like Bannered Mare, Blue Palace etc) because of Lux.
For anyone still looking, there is an AE compatible minimap mod called Dragon's eye minimap on patreon. It isn't quite as polished as this one, but it definitely a step in the right direction.

If you choose to play on a newer version (AE) of the game it's not this mod's fault but yours and it will not work for you.
