Hi, when on a Horse my crosshair doesn't show up (neither ihud's nor smoothcam's). Is this intentional or is a problem on my side (I couldn't find a way to fix it other than disabling smooth)?
I have moved on from using iHUD myself and am using TrueHUD instead so I stopped working on this mod. But everyone is free to use my files update and reupload a updated version if they want to (after getting permissions from Gopher (the Author of iHUD) to do so, since I also asked him 1st before uploading this patch.)
Hey there, your mod works fine, but just like the other one of that kind, it does not work in 1st person when entered sneak mode. No crosshair in 1st person sneak view when a bow is equipped...
If I remove the 3d sight in the options, then when equipping spells, if I aim at an object, the sight still appears, and not as it should, but only for a second, after which it disappears, and this also happens in battle, when aiming at enemy, can it be fixed?
Can maybe, will I try to do it possibly not. The patch works good enough for what I need from it and soon it will be irrelevant cause another modder I know of is working on an alternative to iHUD, for a context based hiding of currently unneeded HUD elements, that has native compatibility with SmoothCam and other more modern mods and for toggling the HUD on a keypress I have my other mods here on the nexus. So I recommend having patience and waiting cause soon this will be mostly obsolete and I have little to no interest in working on a mod that will soon be obsolete.
Thx, can you link to the author's page? Don't want to miss this new mod Edit: I'm sorry, I solved the problem by ticking the forced hide of the sight in the ihud))
Yes. There is no reason to assume it doesn't anyway. Not to mention that I still use it just fine.
What it does different is that it only activates if SmoothCam is actually installed, so you can leave it installed if you want to test stuff where you need to disable smooth cam etc.
Essentially this is an install it and forget it patch. The other one has to be managed when you change any of the mods involved.
Thanks for making this patch! Just wondering, is it expected that I can't see my crosshair in 3rd person unless I'm looking directly at an object or have a weapon/spell drawn? It makes it kind of difficult to pickup/interact with objects in 3rd person because I can't see the crosshair until it's already over the item. Not sure if that's intended or if I'm missing something. Any thoughts?
Thank you for the reply. I do not have my crosshair set to hide in the iHud MCM. Here is a picture of my MCM settings:
My issue is that I can't see my crosshair when I'm just walking around in 3rd person, making it tricky to pick up/interact with things. I'm also using some other mods that affect the UI (Nordic UI, MoreHUD, SkyHUD, True Directional Movement), so I'm guessing there must be something else affecting the crosshair.
The problem is, that SmoothCam requires its custom crosshair which also isn't visible all the time. And to fix the conflict that is the double crosshair this fix lets SmoothCam control 100% of the Crosshair Logic when in 3rd person.
No issue, more or less intended behavior. I had a day I was trying to get more into detail and stuff but I personally was and am happy how it operates rn so I stopped trying tbh.
Do you have the AGO Patch checked in the SmoothCam MCM.
Also this patch only fixes the double crosshair issue by disabling the "misplaced"(centered) crosshair displayed by iHUD in 3rd person when SmoothCam is loaded.
So whatever your issue is must be another issue you are having with SmoothCam and your setup and I sadly don't know how you can fix it. I only know that it works for me, when I selected a present I liked and edited the file to have the compatibility patches I need enabled in the preset and then making that preset the default settings. If I remember correctly how to do that(making a preset the default) is described on the modpage of SmoothCam (at least good enough I could figure out how to do it).
So I can't know for sure what your version did as a whole, but they likely both use the camera state as an additional toggle but only for the crosshair I would assume. What my Script additionally also does, which I haven't read about yours on your now hidden mod page (last I checked), is have an check if the SmoothCam.esp is present to activate the fix and ignore it if not, so people can simply uninstall SmoothCam without a need to worry about iHUD still hiding the crosshair in 3rd person.
I haven't checked out your version (download to look at how you did it) as I was already in a "queue" waiting for Gophers permission (some of his discord staff forwarded my request and I was waiting to hear back) to upload when you uploaded your version (at least what the mod page had listed as the release), which then basically made me drop the need to upload. But after I found out it was hidden and you talked about removing your mods I asked again for the perms so the community on nexus won't miss out an a critical fix.
EDIT: Just realized you unhid your file and the timestamp on the file is from February but the mod page says uploaded June. :visible_confusion:
If you use the xEdit it alter the esp of the mod to have the MCM setting for the toggle mode for the keypress enabled then the default way the mod loads after finishing your character is showing the UI instead of hiding it.
This is more or less just a "private" version I use myself.

have you loked at this:
GitHub - ciathyza/skyrim-script-tweaks: Provides script optimizations and modifications for various mods.
it's optimized scripts for some mods and iHUD is one of them. He also povide ihudcontrolscript file which conflict with your patch.
the other one I haven't done jet cause I am not playing with our.
