The animations are annotated correctly, so they do have footstep sounds, make sure they're not overwritten by installation order or by DAR based mods (overwrite not recognized by MO2 in the second case) and that the animations playing are actually the ones seen in this mod's video/gif previews.
The sprint animation seems bugged for female followers. They get a weird stutter step thing, like the animation is constantly being restarted. Using CATA.
Also having this problem, using TDM, TUDM, AOS, and ISC. Gonna be testing things out and I'll see if I can't fix the issue. If I can, I'll report back.
also having this issue, i only hear sprint sounds in first person, or in third person when i have a weapon out. i don't hear them in third person with my weapon sheathed. i use true directional movement.
If you're not using the CATA version, check your DAR based mods for any "mt_sprintforward.hkx" that might be overwriting this mod, check if the animation playing is actually the correct one.
Guys I solved it. For me it was the Elder Souls - Collection mod. The author included their sprinting animation on it and it doesn't have proper sound triggers. They are working on a fix right now, but if you don't want to wait you can delete these files:

Okay so i guess i know why ur animation run/walk/sprint not work for me. Well~ its cuz of skysa so i cant use this sprint animation. Also if use only this and walk and run animation but not all of ur combat mod. Welp u will see something really weird when use 1 sword or 1 spell
