Welcome to the comment section, these are your options*:

    • JaySerpa, release a new mod now, or else! (Intimidate)
    • I really like your mods, can't wait for the next one! (Persuade)
    • Quit your job and come live with me! (1543 Gold)
    * Wearing an amulet of mara might unlock more dialogue options with this mod author.

I'll be testing my load order and new mods via Twitch. Trying to improve my real life speech skill, so no one can rip me off like the poor argonian in the screenshot. I'm not the best at such things, but I'm trying to learn. Feel free to drop by and say hello if you feel like it:

I'd argue that you've replaced one unrealistic system (bribes scaling on level) with another unrealistic system (bribes scaling on speech). I think the system would work better if the bribe was actually based on how much gold you have. A shakedown doesn't really work if you can't afford to pay it, does it? How does that corrupt guard benefit if you just leave and pay him nothing? He'd rather get SOMETHING, even if it's less than he'd like. Realistically, the person shaking you down would figure out how much you have and try to take as much of that as possible. You would use your speech to try and keep as much as possible in the negotiation. That makes more sense to me, and it allows the player to suffer a real loss (that was the last of my septims!) but also progress regardless of their level because the bribe can actually be paid. This could be broken by giving your gold to your follower or leaving it at home, I guess, but if a player is going to do that then why bother using an immersion mod in the first place?

Maybe you could expand the Riften Shakedown bribe into its own quest. With this mod, getting in costs a lot or prevents you from entering Riften. Thanks for the mods 👍

this is a mod that I wish I could somehow just make as a permanent edition to the game since its such a obvious improvement. I bet time got short and implementing this into vanilla game was an afterthought, still this game gets released once every year seemingly sad they can't just put some of these types of mods into the vanilla game.

Does this mod affect other speechcraft related things in the game, such as persuasion and intimidation? I only have this and "Immersive Speech Dialogues", which should only rewrite certain lines, yet for the life of me since installing them i CANNOT get into riften at a lower level, which is a problem because most of the quests i want to start so i can level up without randomly going around skyrim are there. My speech is 25 and i have the first perks, yet persuasion and intimidation consistently fail and the bribe is just way too big

This only changes the price of the bribes, nothing more. Sorry :(

Like the idea of the mod, but it doesn't make a lot of sense in some instances. Like the shakedown at the entrance to Riften. My lvl 1 character was being asked for over 600 gold just to enter the city. Lol

It's for the privilege of entering the city lol. Get better at speech or get more money, the guards are expert at scamming unskilled players :P

Open it with SSEEdit, trust me it's super easy to learn and you can use it to tweak most mods out there, so worth it.

This mod was great, in theory, until I had to get into the Riften jail to break Inigo out at low level. 700+ to bribe the guard, what?? I guess that's not unreasonable when you have the gold for it, but its steep early on. I actually bought a potion of fortify speech from the alchemist and it reduced the price to around 600. Then I succeeded on persuasion check and didn't have to bribe after all. Just some feedback.

That actually feels a little low to me. Seven hundred gold yo risk your career isn't very high. This mod is supposed to increase your immersion.

Go out and earn the money and return. I mean that is the point of this mod unless I am mistaken?

If you want something configurable, MaskedRPGFan made a perfect mod for you: Configurable Bribery.

Erm... no, I'm pretty sure you're mistaken. This mod is the less invasive mod ever to exist. It literally changes the value of a formula, and doesn't even touch the formula itself, or the bribing mechanic or anything else.

I actually just got this same issue, no bribe option when installed, and removing this mod makes them show up again. Also on AE so maybe that's the issue? Or possibly conflicting with another mod.

You should report it under bugs so it can be fixed since comments are often hard to sift through -- especially with the large number of mods jayserpa maintains. I am sure it would help them out on time management and also help others out wanting to use this mod for AE, then (since it was properly reported under the "Bugs" tab). I haven't used the mod on AE so I don't know. Things you would need would be loading priority of not just the load order but the installation order of priority you've chosen for the mods on your list. The next would be any error/crash logs pertaining to it. Then the actual problem. This would help determine whether it is an order problem, an alternative mode that is conflicting in some way etc...

If you have mod organizer 2, select the 3 dots next to the back/restore icons in the program's tool bar and export as CSV then choose all options. This is a good way to report your list while keeping it spreadsheet friendly while also maintaining the locations of the mods, priorities etc..

jayserpa may even have a list of what they expect in a bug report -- if so, its best to follow it than suggestions I've made. ;) I hope this gets fixed for AE since (so far) 3 of you are reporting problems...
