If you are like me and you have 100% of the textures from this game replaced... you may have the same problem like me and the mudcrabs from this mod look weird in your setup because they use a different cubemap from vanilla (plus some other changes... and maybe ENB has an effect on all that).
So... if you notice something weird just install the file below which includes: + cubemap fix (for some people like me I guess xD) + UV fix on mcrab3.nif (specifically the white shape on top of this crab was fixed: https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1704/images/62967/62967-1643796321-251073204.png). + the addition of some of the mudcrabs you find in Solstheim.
Thank you Remmy! Did you notice that the crabs' leg hair are not right with this mod? Most of it can only be viewed from one side, an issue that isn't present in the vanilla mesh. Would you know how to fix that, or if Pfuscher sees this, maybe you can fix it?
@Mur4s4me hi hi :) well... look at that! you are right... lol I just checked but the issue is really weird because if you go to "Shader Flags 2" and enable "Double Sided" you can see it from both sides... but then one of the sides gets darker than the other! wtf o_O I checked the vanilla mesh and it has no "Double Sided" flag at all... so I guess that's not a proper solution >.< I hope Pfuschy knows :3
I actually found what the problem is by covering up the transparency with a rainbow pattern (just a random gradient so I can see where things are alligned; if there was random normals misalignment, I'd see it). The issue isn't that the hair/filters aren't double-sided, because the original mesh wasn't double-sided itself. Instead, the hairs were on two one-sided planes, and in the places where the hair is one-sided on Pfuscher's mesh, that second plane is completely missing, while it's present elsewhere. Not sure how this happened, as I'm not experienced enough with modeling to know the workflow of making a new mesh.
But yeah, hair textured areas need second planes facing the other direction that are missing on Pfuscher's higher poly mesh for some reason. Pics to demonstrate.
EDIT: added third image for better clarity? of point
Missing leghair alpha planes have been restored (@kanguin2 thanks for the detailed bug report) and adjusted so they no longer float off the legs. The hair around the mouth was also suffering from the same problem so I fixed that too. Additionally I noticed one of the bumps was floating off of mcrab02 and mcrab03 had a bit of a UV hole, these were fixed as well. I included the additional Solstheim mudcrabs so people only have to download one fix file but did not include @RemmyKun's cubemap change since it's not really a fix so much as a preference. Enjoy.
First tip: look at the file name and realize that the retexture cannot be high poly, which is what confuses people. Second tip: look at the first line of the description and understand the same thing.
Pfuscher you could change your name to Insta-Download because thats how good your stuff is.
Thank you for making this game nothing but eye candy for everyone. I'm getting close to 10,000 hours in Skyrim and just about every one I've been using your mods. Thanks again.
Now that's a Mudcrab, but before I had a dark emerald Textured crab with the matching crab chitin texture (mudcrabchitin.dds) this isn't present in this mod so I've reverted back to my old textures so the loot will match the crabs, my old texture isn't on par with these but the new meshes even with the lower res textures is a step up Crabtastic. : )
The mudcrabchitin.dds is part of the same folder structure.
I was wondering about that too. The textures-only other mudcrab mod I have installed includes mudcrabchitin.dds, mudcrabchitin_n.dds and mudcrab_m.dds.

Thanks a lot for that!! :D
I don't know if Pfuscher will ever reply but right now I'm using your fixed meshes and they are great! <3
Kudos!
open the directory, you can see meshes inside.
Second tip:
looking at the description, the sentence "High poly replacer" could help
look at the file name and realize that the retexture cannot be high poly, which is what confuses people.

Might need some adjustments though

I combined that texture (and the mudcrab ash retexture included in it) with the mudcrabs' retexture from this mod:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/104355? (it works for SSE too ofc).
And now I combined the diffuse map from forgotten creatures with the eye section from this mod because Pfuscher included prettier mudcrab eyes hahah
The mudcrabchitin.dds is part of the same folder structure.
Not for the 3 mudcrabs you can fight/find everywhere
Not for the mudcrab legs on the dishes either afaik
Think this covers the Crabs..hmm in buttered sauce. : }
