It's now January 2023 and I can attest that this mod still seems to do as advertised, even after the new version release of the game. I had noticed that several of the 3d models of boots in the game did not match their store/inventory icons after you buy/craft them and put them on. But this mod indeed displays the correct icon. I will report back if I notice any bugs, but the mod works great so far.
yes the problem is that all the other changes that were made to weapons and armor, as well as the new netflix armor, all of that is not updated/added when you use this mod in its current state. So some of your witcher gear does not have the new stats applied, some of the fixes CDPR made for relic weapons will not be there if you use this mod, etc etc. So yes, it works, and it wont break your game, but it's out of date.
I just updated the mod myself using the updated weapon/armor XML files as the base so all the changes for patch 4.0 will be present. Ill try to get it uploaded soon, cant do it right now
Okay, that's really useful info. I haven't noticed too many icons missing other than boots so if it is as you say (that the mod cancels some of the new fixes), I think it's best not to use this mod until it gets properly updated. But I will miss it, since it's a bit annoying when you buy something that looks all different! If you have the skills to do it, your help would be very welcome. I don't know if the original poster is still active.
This mod break some relics weapon and gloves with the current game versions Here is my fixed version : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Jy2AqY-xqSBoaUJWJwJWLDJTCdQKwzHe/view?usp=sharing
Hey man great mod, not sure why they would have removed these icons, since that work was already done.
However I have a compatibility request if possible. Your mod seems to conflict with: http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/545/? . Or at least the everything, and 3 slots version of the mod. If you're not capable of doing so, or you just don't want to for any reason. Fair enough, just let me know, and I''ll reach out to him, and see if he can do it instead.
Much easier to make a change in the Relic Weapons Redone.
It is necessary to find in the file def_item_weapons_relic.hml item "Lonclaw" name ="Longclaw" and change icon path icon_path ="icons/inventory/weapons/steel_unique_longclaw_64x128.png"
I really wish Nexus told me when someone responded, so I don't have to keep tabs up in case they do. Luckily though, I had this one up, and was just coming to close it lol.
So the incompatibility was seemingly it just not working at all yeah. I had two relic weapons, and neither had the stat changes being applied (or at least the tooltip said as much).
Not sure if it really conflicted with it, or if the description was just being inhibited. Either way I didn't want that to be happening. Just in case you're curious, this was mangekyoumadara1987's (Relic Weapons Redone author) response

Ty, no prob Yeah, I already saw that one, it must indeed have incompatibilities, as we modified same datas...as I wanna use that mod too in my next playthrough, you can be confident that i`ll have a look into it. I just cant say when this option will be finished, atm theres much to do in RL and my computer crashes many times due to some hardware error...my next playthrough will be next month when hearts of stone is released. So it COULD be, that I need some days/weeks to do this. I could give you answere here as well, so you`ll directly see when the time has come

Does anyone know if using this mod can cause any problems with the current game version?
Is this working with 1.12?

No worries if you can't/won't
