Changelogs
Compatibility:
The Witcher 3 "classic" (e.g. patch 1.32).
This mod is not intended to be used with the next-gen update (e.g. patch 4.0).

Target audience:
Players who do not want to migrate to the next-gen update but are interested nonetheless to improve the visual quality of the game.

About this mod:
This mod adds "Ultra+" graphical settings to the classic version of The Witcher 3 similar to what the next-gen update offers (DirectX 11 mode).
It does not modify the "Medium", "High" and "Ultra" groups (unlike what the next-gen update seems to do).
Note that the "Ultra+" settings are naturally more demanding than the "Ultra" settings and so you will experience a reduction in framerate (close to the reduction going from "High" to "Ultra").
This mod also introduce a few additional values above "60" and up to "144" for optionally setting a maximum Frames Per Second.
This mod also adds an "Ultra" post-processing setting simply to set the ambient occlusion to HBAO+ (it was previously not linked to any existing group of settings while it is often considered as the superior choice for the classic version of the game).
This mod is intended to be as easy as possible to use in-game and to look familiar for the players who have seen the "Ultra+" settings being officially introduced in the next-gen update. Players who require to access to in depth settings (at the risk of introducing an overwhelming level of complexity) are invited to use another mods such as Tweaks by TookaFace.

Hardware recommendations:
The usage of this mod is not recommended on systems that are unable to comfortably handle the pre-existing "Ultra" settings.
The default settings for the new "Ultra+" Texture Quality is intended to be used with a graphics card equipped with 8GB of video memory (this can be adjusted to accommodate graphics cards with less video memory provided that the user is aware of the constraints on using mods with HD textures).

Installation & uninstallation:
This is fairly easy. Please refer to the included "README.txt" file for detailed instructions.
Before booting the game with the mod installed, you may want to backup your user settings and ensure that the file isn't "Read-only":
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\The Witcher 3\user.settings

For the users of The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project (by HalkHogan), please install this mod after it.
The HD mod adds a custom preset value for the Texture Quality called "Halk Ultra HD" or "##preset_value_Halk Ultra HD" to allow the loading of larger textures in the video memory.
The "Ultra+" preset already takes this into account. If you install this mod after the HD mod (recommended), simply select "Ultra+" as Texture Quality. If you would install the HD mod after this mod, you won't have access to the "Ultra+" settings in "Graphics".

Alternative mod:
Supreme to Extreme Graphics Options by firemanaf
This mod proposes several groups of settings above "Ultra" (you may need to scroll horizontally to see them all). It is a bit dated and it lacks the convenient selection of HBAO+ and the additional FPS limit values.
I noticed this mod while testing my own settings but I decided to finalize my mod anyway (initially for my own use) as I find it more straightforward and globally reminiscent of what the next-gen update would bring to the table (DirectX 11 mode).
