v0.5.0 Update - Ranged Push Back - Push to First Phase
tpFysYI9V9U
Ranged Push Back has been updated with new code to execute push back to the first phase. This will allow you to use any ability to push enemies back to the start of the counter, in essence disabling them.
Note that other abilities can give them back the ability to act by pushing them to the final phase, so be careful how you use it!
By default, no skill has been set for standard and active probe versions.
Artillery Addon
Added supplemental files for artillery variants with status effects:
Mortar (Inferno) - lowers total overall damage, but applies heat damage to target.

New Feature: Ranged Initiative Manipulation
What it does:
Adds +1 initiative to targets (4 => 3) or pushes enemies from the current phase to the final phase (5 or 10, depending on if you have certain mods installed).
Currently only works on Mortar/Thumper Cannon attacks and Active Probe.
New Feature: Flashpoint/Campaign Ally NPC Skill Tree Rebuilds
Allied NPCs like Kamea Arano, Morgan Kell, and Trainee Pilots have individualized selections of Skill Tree Rebuild skills, curated to match their BattleMechs.

Changing existing pilot portraits with BattleTech Save Editor
This guide only assumes that you have some basic computer literacy. If you can manage to install mods but have difficulty following this simple guide, it’s probably my problem; give me feedbacks.
1. Download and run BattleTech Save Editor.
Load your save. It is always advised to make a backup/duplicate save before editing.
If you don’t know where your save files are, you can check some online sources like this article on PCGamingWiki.
3. After the save is successfully loaded in BT Save Editor, go to the Pilot Editor window, select the pilot you intend to edit, check “Use Custom Portrait” under Custom Portrait and paste the file name for the portrait of your choice in BATTLETECH\Mods\CommanderPortraitLoader\Portraits.
v0.3.0 adds a number of skills and traits to the mod. Here is a quick chart of what is available at each level:

* A new BattleTech story and Campaign mode, consisting of 36 planned new flashpoints, based on the unofficial history of the Arano Restoration where Kamea Arano wasn't presumed killed as the ComStar cover-up claims (a.k.a. original campaign). Instead, she was exiled and the company entered the service of canon BattleTech figures such as Interstellar Expeditions and Chandrasekhar Kurita and the real events of the Aurigan campaign were suppressed.
* Twenty-eight original flashpoints released, campaign mode only: You On The Run, Exodus, Evil Eye, The Periphery Is A Harsh Mistress, The Mad Cat Who Walks Through Walls, Here Might Be Dragons, Jinxed, It Came From The Rim, Death's Mask, God Mecha, Amaris Legacy, Tales of 1001 BattleMechs, The Man Comes Around, Danse Macabre, Putting O...
* For most of the campaign you'll use the Hysteria (Leopard), and only get the Argo at the end of part 2, with the Question Of Faith campaign flashpoint.
* All of the original campaign contracts have been modified and the text rewritten according to the new story.
* Several of the new campaign flashpoints have consecutive deployments. This is done to increase the challenge of having to run multiple operations with limited assets, and for story telling proposes, since the story of the flashpoint involves fast operations. Certain flashpoint choices can reduce the number of consecutive deployments or allow you to use third-party 'Mechs.
* The original flashpoints of the five Inner Sphere factions are optional to play during the campaign, and will immediately precede the 4th ...

Installation and Trouble Shooting
The main reason NOT to add more mods to the game is every mod you add increases the number of patches performed to the Unity Engine. Patches can conflict with or overwrite other patches, and if placed in the incorrect order, they can lead to erroneous gameplay results.
I do not recommend adding additional mods to XAI, as I have scoured the internet for the best and most valuable treasures. However, there is nothing wrong with adding pilot mods or the commander portraits mod if you desire. (commander traits and C-fixes are already in there along with many other mods.) Please join the XAI Discord Link if you have any doubts or questions. The installation and trouble-shooting links are here.

Elite Arsenal adds several features to build on the core Expanded Arsenal + Elite Forces gameplay:

200 new variants of Expanded Arsenal mechs, which are deadlier and tougher than even those from Elite Forces.
46 new variants of vanilla and Expanded Arsenal vehicles.
Elite versions of all the regular contracts.
Randomised drop locations and extra lances, courtesy of the Mission Control mod.
Tweaks to the AI that make it more aggressive and unpredictable, taken from the Better AI mod.

I was bugged by the limited selection of voices in HBS BT since I started to make custom characters. I heard these pilot voices so many times it did not sit right with me to see them attached to my characters. So I spend the last 200 hours of BT with pilot voices turned off, not ideal but it worked.
However now thanks to Kmission and Modtek team we can have as many voices as we want, so I decided to take a swing at it.
The gist is very simple, lines ripped from games and accommodated as BT pilot lines. Lines have been cut down, spliced, and even substituted with BB voice lines. As you can imagine it is not a perfect fit so consider these voices to be more for fun than feedback.
Make no mistake, this is a quick and dirty collection of soundbanks from other sour...
This is a major refactoring that includes the following changes:
Add vehicles and turrets from Vanilla Plus. With this change, EA now includes 99% of the contents of VP (the Xenorauder and catgirls are unlikely to make it back, sorry).
Reuse gear and weapon definitions from Haakon's Tons of Guns:
Items are now available for sale only in specific star systems; see below for the list
Some item IDs have changed (eg clan lasers, LRMs and SRMs)
Legacy weapons have been moved into the weapon_legacy directory; they are still present in-game to allow loading existing saves, but are not used on mechs and should not appear in stores
There are a few reasons for using Haakon's mods: to help integrate EA into the broader mod ecosystem; to make ...

XAI Rule Changes and Game Guide
XAI Game Rules that differ from the Tabletop and Vanilla.
I have gone to extreme lengths to list weapon and ammo descriptions,
abilities, and pros and cons within the game, and sometimes all you have
to do is mouse over to get a brief description.
Some of these rules may seem disorganized because they are some of these rules are located in the XAI Core mod.json.
Machine guns have had their critical percentages lowered until you get high-tier machine guns.
Total crits inflicted are now split between the weapons and your pilots' skills for all major classes of weapons.
You can mix heatsinks but are limited to no more than two heat exchangers per mech.
Many items now have limits on how many you can add to a mech and...
Heavy Metal Update (March 2021)
Finally finished the update for Heavy Metal! You will get some fun new toys as well as some improvements on existing ones:
LB-2X -> Heavy Machine Gun
For starters, it's not a Star League weapon, but so are a lot of weapons on this list. In it's place, you will get a far more useful Heavy Machine Gun. Again, I know it's not exactly canon, but it's low tech, fits the era, and gives you a low weight ballistic option that is sadly lacking with the vanilla game. Frankly, a heavy MG should have been retconned long ago like so many other Retrotech weapons.
UAC/20 -> Rocket Launcher & Streak SRM2
Another non-Star League weapon that doesn't fit the era at all. It and its variants get replaced with the far easier to fit Rocket Launcher 20 and S...
