This has been asked before and I have looked at that mod, however the reason I decided not to make it compatible is because my 5.56 ammo is greatly more powerful than the strongest 5.56 in that mod.
As I understand it, to give it compatibility I would need to remove my 5.56 ammo and make my mod dependent on their 5.56 ammo, because entity damage is calculated by the ammo not the rifle and they made their 5.56 less powerful than 7.62, this would lower the overall effectiveness of my rifle to less than that of anything firing 7.62 defeating the reason for me creating this mod.
You could always look at making to separate mods, one that uses Izayo 5.56 and one that is like it is now. This would give more options on what people want to use. I
I'm trying to keep things as vanilla as possible as I'm running a server with newer players. Is it possible to get a version which just uses the vanilla game's 7.62 ammo, or to discuss with me how to edit the relevant files? Would be much appreciated, thanks!
I'm sorry to have to ask such a noob question but I keep seeing "must be installed on client AND server to work" for various mods. What does that mean? I play single player. Does this just mean both the player hosting the game and any other players that join must have the mod downloaded? Or is it something more. I have some mods not work/items don't show up when I try to play. If the mod must be installed on client and server even for it to work in a single player game, how do you do that? All I know to do is to put the mod into my mod folder. I don't know what to do beyond that to get mods to work.
Sorry for the late reply, Yes, the host/server and everyone connected must have the mod if it adds blocks/ items to the game. IF you are playing single player, then you need to make sure you have the mod placed in the mods folder of you game and that you are using the correct version of the mod for the version of the game you are playing, because of the changes in some of the coding for the game, mods for older version of the game might not work correctly or not at all when loaded in the latest version of the game.
Thanks for considering this mod, I'm sorry that this mod doesn't meet your needs at this time.
This mod is currently a standalone weapon mod with its own setting and ammunition that allows it to work without the need for another mod, and as such, I currently have no plans to make it compatible with any other authors mods.
