For anyone looking for how to install this: using the modengine method with the lazy loader (links to how it's explained on the Armoury mod page which I recommend highly!), install the dll from this mod into DRIVELETTER:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON\Game\dllMods and if you want your current save file to be your modded one replace go to your save folder by pressing Windows+R and pasting in this %APPDATA% \ArmoredCore6\ <user-id> \AC60000.sl2 and simply renaming the existing AC60000.sl2 to have .mod at the end instead of .sl2 and upon launching the game via modded method you'll use your modded save and while launching the vanilla game (remove the dinput8.dll from your game folder to launch vanilla) (I make a folder within my game folder to store it in while running vanilla then move it back out when running modded) you'll launch your new vanilla save! If this doesn't make sense I check Nexus regularly and can help out! but this mod works great for me :)
so in short this mod will not work without Lazy loader?
OK I finally got this mod to work just with ModEngine2 and god was setting it up a doozy
first DL this mod get Mod Engine 2 Extract Mod Engine 2 into the game's directory (it is advisable that the ModEngine-2.1.0.0-win64 must not be in your game's directory
extract this mod into a directory that you can easily remember in my case I extracted it in the root of D: named AC6Mod
now look at the armoredcore6.toml the important lines are mods = [ { enabled = true, name = "default", path = "mod" }, { enabled = true, name = "armoredcore6_alt_saves", path = "D:\\AC6Mod\\armoredcore6_alt_saves.dll" } ] and
^What @Algester said! You got this mod working right I was definitely wrong in my setup till your excellent directions. For those who put their AC6 Mods in or around the main game folder, my paths for copy and paste in the config_armoredcore6.toml that I have for the Armory mod were:
external_dlls = ["C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON\\Game\\dllMods\\armoredcore6_alt_saves.dll"] AND { enabled = true, name = "armoredcore6_alt_saves", path = "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON\\Game\\dllMods\\armoredcore6_alt_saves.dll" }
nice mod! ruined my ng++ save game. for anyone, never try mod without getting ng++ first because your save will be corrupt and cannot detected even try to replace
Some more precise instructions on how to use this would be really nice. -Plopping it into the dllmods folder by itself did nothing for me. -Setting the config_armoredcore6 file to have "dllMods\armoredcore6_alt_saves.dll" caused the save to break and the mod to not load.
Honestly sick of these people posting all these f*#@ing mods and not a single added info on how or where to install the damn things. I have no use for random files and nowhere to put them, ffs.
Hi, can anyone help me? I can't save my game. I always return to the first mission after closing the game. I tried this custom savegame and others, but the problem persists. Is there any solution?
This mod changes the extension for SL2 savegames made by the game to .mod. It doesn't automatically carry over progress to your new savegame :-)
If you enable this mod it will create a completely new savegame file while keeping the original in-tact. If you want you old savegame carried over you will need to go to your original savegame, copy it, and rename the copy to have the .mod file extension.
Does this allow you to take a saved game from one PC and copy it to another? I've been trying to do just that but always get "Failed to Load saved game" when launching.
Savegames cannot be transferred between steam accounts without extensive effort right now. If both ends are on the same steam account it shouldn't be an issue. If they are on different ones you will need additional tooling to replace the steam IDs that are embedded in the savefile.
can any one help me get this to work , when ever i load in to the game it shows the old save. copied lazy loader , put the dll in the correct folder , am i missing anything?
