Seems to absolutely TANK performance when using uMod to install this mod. Without uMod running, I get 60FPS locked, no dips and with it, I get 5FPS in the menus...
I wish there was some other way to do this :/ the prompts are confusing and I continuously fail the quick time events because I either press the wrong button or fail to press it in time. Really wish Ubisoft implemented proper control prompts with the PC port.
I had the same problem before, you need to download the version of uMod that is given in the description, not the latest available version. It also works fine with just the old Texmod v0.9b as well (but then you'd have to launch the game through Texmod).
Okay so maybe I'm doing something wrong here. The mod does work, but it absolutely tanked the performance on my RTX 3060 with i5-13600K system. Without the mod, I'm getting a locked 60fps (actually 59, since the game is locked at 59 fps for some reason), with this mod I'm getting like 5-13 fps (GPU utilization is at 5 to 8%). I should mention that I downloaded the latest available version of uMod (which is v2 r53).
Edit: Using the older version which is given in the link provided fixed this for me. Thank you for this mod!
Couple years later and top post was useful but I thought I might reiterate in steps.
Step 1. Add game to the umod, make sure global hook is checked. Step 2. Open the game via THE APPROPRIATE LAUNCHER (ie: ubisoft, steam launcher), not thru UMOD Step 3. Once the menu of the game is loaded, alt tab to umod and select the mod Step 4. Click update(reload).
For those who click on update (reload) and nothing change, you probably didn't unpack the .tpf file from the zip since the mod you need to load with uMod is that file
For those who added the game but nothing appear when launch, the file you need to add is "AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe" and if you add other file instead, that might have been why it's not working
Also I'm not sure about starting the game through uMod since i start the game through normal Ubisoft Connect You probably add Ubisoft Connect as a game instead which isn't intended
Doesn't work. The "Open Texture/Package" button is always greyed out no matter where/how you launch the game from. And yes, I added AssassinCreedIIGame.exe
Furthermore, the program does not allow checking Global Hook if you've added the game. If you've added the game, it tells you delete it if you want to use Global Hook so you only use either, not both. The instructions are confusing.
Wow this mod makes this game so much more enjoyable. Thank you so much for making this! Before, I was having a lot of issues with combat due to forgetting what those stupid icons meant. Once I got this though, it was all good!
