I know you said you like the rifles in another comment, but would you be able to swap the last rifle with the sharpshooter one? Or at least point me in the direction where i can learn to do it myself?
See if you can get into this discord server, and then explore specifics on model swap. I asked questions there before so the answers you are looking should still be there to guide you.
What you do is open up the .mesh file you want to use to replace the other weapon with through AnvilToolKit. Once you opened it up, click on the model and right click on its name at the left column. You’ll see “Export”, click on that, and then you’ll get the .glb file exported to where the .mesh is located. Next, open up the .mesh weapon you want to replace and do the same thing as before until you reached the export part. Instead of export, below that option is “Replace”, so click on that. You then select the .glb file of the model weapon you exported before. After that, the model of the weapon should now be replaced with the weapon model you want, and you have to hit save. Once saved, there will be a .bak file of the original weapon you replaced, in case you want to revert back. Take that out to keep it somewhere safe in case you want to go back next time. As for the .glb from before, you can either delete that or keep it somewhere safe as well.
I did it but anything changes, I replaced the files, even if I look inside them, the meshes are the ones that I changed but in game they're the normal ones, any idea why?
Hi JohnnoirAtlas619--So I'm on the Discord for AnvilToolKit and trying to make heads or tails of doing a mesh swap. I also see you last comment thread about how you do the mesh transmog and the process is completely different. Here is my dilemma; your process seems easier but when in AnvilToolKit where you say to right click no option for an export or then import displays. By that same token per what the GitHub Resorces page for AnvilToolKit says I need to alter the hexcod for the .buildtable file and there are no build table files in the Bootstrap folder. So I'm totally lost. I'm not sure if there is a setting in Anvil that I need to change to gain access to the Export/Imports for the mesh files or if the Bootstrap folder's .buildtables are contained elsewhere. I've done some brute force modding to the earlier AC games and they are so much easier to navigate; Unity's file structure is wild! Can you help me with this??? This is the tutorial I'm following Lesson 4 Part 1 · Kamzik123/AnvilToolkit-Resources Wiki · GitHub
Hexcode is obsolete, it’s the reason for Anvil’s entire existence in the first place. I can’t be more clear than what was already said in the comment and what others have said in discord.
Thanks for responding. You are so correct! I just didn't realize I had to open Mesh Viewer first, click the drop down in the top left for "Scene" and then "Meshes" and then right click the name. When I right clicked it there then it gives me the Export and/or Import options. I figured it out after some clicking around! Thanks again for this mod and for your helping us armatures!
I read your comment about not taking requests, but even so i am a bit desperate, so knowing that its more than possible these will never be done, i have three. I'm not being greedy, these are just 3 i would absolutely love.
I know its three requests which can seem greedy but i would be happy with even just one of these.
Change the "Solid Long Gun" to the "Silver Plated Pistol" (i really like the silver plated, its simple and understated but still elegant looking, plus it fits Arnos hand perfectly)
Change the "Silver Plated Rifle" to the uh... "Rifle" (this is the only category you didn't touch, i assume because you or many others aren't fans of rifles, but i love them, the the "Rifle: is my favorite looking one)
Change either max level long weapons to either the "Halberd" or the "Hallebarde Croissant" (both are cool, im only asking you to do one change, just pick either for either)
Read the sticky post, it’s a small conversation on how I did the replacement. It’s been 7 months now since I touched AC Unity and any modding around it, so I am a bit out of touch and will not be returning to this as I am busy with others things. I will probably come back when a dazzling mod appears or something.
Also, I did not want to change the rifle because of artistic preference. I always used the gold plated rifle, and its design wouldn’t work with any of the rifle. It can perform two shots, and the design of the rifle looks like an early version of a Winchester, so I didn’t want to change it to avoid breaking immersion.
To be fair about that, the Sharpshooter Flintlock can also fire two shots before reloading for some reason. And personally i prefer the simple rugged look of the "Sharpshooter" and the "Rifle".
Oh crap, I didn't even realized there were more than one that could do two shots!
Alright, I'll try to work on this one, but I won't count this as a request, this is an oversight. If I had known, I would've made the swap for that one too at the start.
Also, I tested the rest again, and there's a Maple Rifle that can do two shots too, so I'm going to provide options for that too in case anyone wants to feel fancy.
1) I tried to changed the model of the Ceremonial Partisan to Spear myself, by using your reply to guide. It worked but it seems to be a problem, the Ceremonial Partisan that swapped to spear model seems to longer than the original one. Is there any way to correct this?
Thank you in advance for answer my question, have a nice day.
Edit 1: There were 2 questions I asked before but I found their answers by myself.
Sorry for the late reply, I thought I already answered. Not sure if your answer is the same as mine, but the reason why the size is different is because the original had been made small when they applied the model. This is because some weapons are too big and causes clipping issue with the environment, making it feel weird as to how Arno could parkour with big weapon. This is similar to AC Valhalla, if you know some of the spear weapon and how crazy long they are.
Therefore, what you’re facing, as well as what my mod is facing, is that we swapped the model but never resize them. I didn’t do it because you have to be crazy accurate and it’ll involve many trials and errors that’s just not worth my time.
Thank you for answer. I just changed AnvilToolKit 12441_-_2handed13_R4_LOD0 to 12477_-_2handed22_R6_LOD0.Mesh, but the weapon disappeared? Is there a way?
Uh, not sure what you did, but I never touched the ID. What you do is open up the .mesh file you want to use to replace the other weapon with through AnvilToolKit. Are they swapped or replaced?
Do the low level weapons still look the same or do they look like the high level weapons now?
Anyway, no, only the weapons you see are swapped with the low level model, while the low level remains the same.
If so, can you tell me the address where I can download the add on file?
or Could you please upload a file with the 14th and 22nd heavy weapons swapped?
sword staff >>> officer's bardiche
I try to follow the step, but AnvilToolKit keep closing itself all the time when i try to replace the model.
Thank you in advance for your help.
