I've found that changing the line "TobiiEnabled=1" to "TobiiEnabled=0" in the ACValhalla.ini cuts down on a lot of the crashing issues also I had 8 crashes in the first 18 hours changed that line and only had 2 crashes in the next 60+ hours and one of those crashes was after I left the game idling in the menu for about 10 minutes while I fed my cats, got some coffee and took a bathroom break
Thanks for testing it. At the moment I'm still looking for what other unnecessary things to disable to increase FPS. So far I've made a shortcut to the cache folder on my desktop and just delete the contents before starting the game.
Not sure if it will still help anyone, but someone named AvelWorldCreator on Discord was able to make me an all-in-one shortcut to empty the cache and launch the game.
1. Make a blank .txt file 2. Paste the following: @echo off del /f /q /s "%userprofile%\Documents\Assassin's Creed Valhalla\cache" del /f /q /s "%userprofile%\Documents\Assassin's Creed Valhalla\file_cache"
"[insert the path to your ACValhalla.exe here with no brackets]" 3. Save and change .txt to .cmd 4. (Optional) make a shortcut to wherever you put this new .cmd file; the shortcut's icon can be changed to the ACValhalla icon in its Properties
Each time the shortcut is used, it will briefly bring up a console to show the cache being emptied and then the game will launch as normal.
There is another (likely) reason for game being unstable in the first hours - the PSO cache build up that happens on the fly. TDR crashes in the driver when building a PSO cache is not a new thing. Remember The Last of Us Part 1 which was crashing a lot when building shaders for many-many players. For this reason also I would highly DISCOURAGE deleting the cache folders as proposed in replies here. Instead you should keep playing the game without touching cache or drivers (updating drivers may also invalidate the cache).
This mod could do with a better explanation of what it does and what it changes, exactly.
> What changes have you implement to reduce crashing? > What does "semi maxed out" mean? Does this mean you have settings that are less than the Max settings the game offer? Or are they custom settings not available in the vanilla settings?
For me this game is crashing about 2 times/hour, so I am constantly saving everywhere it`s possible. I took a look at this mod (ini file) and I don`t know if it will help. I am playing this game stable 4k 60Hz V-sync and HDR enabled and all settings ultra, except AA and clouds low. This mod has 85% FOV So, no wonder it helps to increase FPS. I think for the game like this it`s too narrow. I keep it at 110% And few more words about your GPU temp. Well, 90°C could be okay if it was fahrenheit. But celsius... Mine is running 50-55°C.

A bit more clear information, please.
