I've been using better attributes, together with more attributes (2x) and more ability points (x2) with no issue up to level 10. But when reaching level 11 I got only the 2 ability points, no attribute point at all, not even the vanilla 1. Is there some cap there or am I missing something.
Thanks!
OK. I read a comment below that's is vanilla behavour, from level 10 you get attribute points only every 2 levels. You reply there, in case someone else is wondering:
"its vanilla, starting from 10 you are getting points every 2 levels, starting from 18 - every 3. at least that's what I see in game assets."
do you know how many times I've heard "halp, not working"? exactly as many as it turned out to be user's mistake. check the right side of character sheet, do the math, its not difficult.
Hey, i am playing the gamepass version on the 1.2.9.0 update, none of the mods are working besides the More Ability Points one. Is it because of the update?
Regardless of your launcher (Steam, Gampass, etc) the more 'More Abilities Points' mod alters the vanilla 'game.ini' config file which is located in a COMPLETELY different location than the '~mods' folder where most other created mod packs (like this one) are installed.
Check description pages again to find the proper path you need depending on the mod. Having read them, I'm pretty confident in the accuracy of the install instructions. (As a heads up, most paths needed for modding this game include a folder named ALABAMA, but they are NOT all the same - MAKE SURE you are in the right place when installing anything.)
... Is it because of the update?
I have tested A LOT of mods for this game and, thus far, have yet to personally come across any that "didn't work" and/or stopped working due to the game be updated.
Does it require both to work, or can I only use "more attribute" file, without the "better"?
'More' and 'Better' versions are not dependent on one another and are completely compatible (though you should obviously pick only one of the 'More' options).
I have this person's same problem. I will triple check that I'm putting them in the right folder
Best I can tell all of these mods are meant to be in the same folder so if somebody picks one of the attribute multipliers and also picks the better attribute they seem to go to the same spot so if they say one is working and not the other then I can safely assume that the installation path was correct and there might be something else wrong here. if the more attributes mod is working like it is for myself and many others and the other one isn't then where is the other one supposed to be installed because I see no indication it should be in a different place and if it's in the same place why would one work and not the other?
@Sheepsclothing I think you may be misunderstanding this particular comment thread. Both CacetossauroRex and Xeiruz mention that their 'More ABILITY Points' mods are working correctly but the mod on THIS page for 'More ATTRIBUTE Points' is not.
My response was showing that the ability points mod was (at the time - now updated in the 1.3 patch) a tweak to the game.ini file, which is located at a very different place within the game folders than where this mod pak is placed. Meaning, just because the mod changes to a game.ini works does NOT mean you have properly installed pak files into the ~mods folders as required by the various versions of THIS mod.

This is correct, all of the versions from this mod page that change ATTRIBUTES do go into the same place (~mods folder) so if one is working than there is no reason for both to not be working. It seems like you may be assuming that with 'Better Attributes' installed you should see changes to the stats shown on the left side of the character sheet (that shows the +% to stats), however, those numbers will still LOOK unchanged -- but if you do the math, the info on the right side of your character sheet (where all variables are calculated before the information is displayed) then you should see the difference between vanilla and modded. I actually had this confusion initially as well and only realized what was happening from reading some of @Caites responses to other comments.
Love your mods to death. They've made my playthrough so much more smooth. But it looks like today's patch broke the attribute points one! I saw you already fixed the ability points one. Such a fast fix! I assume you're working on this one as well?
Yes, today's patch broke mine too. I am at minus -41 points right now xD I hope Caites will have a look on this. P.S. Sorry, i was wrong. Attributes are fine. Ability points are -41 now
Can you give me advice on how to fix it then? Since the update, I have -13 skill points. I've reinstalled it twice now. Once manually, and once even through Vortex to try and see. Still -13 :/
Also on Gamepass
Edit: Strangest thing. Reinstalled it one last time and it works fine... I swear I did this exact same thing last night
Hey @Caites I'm on the steam version and after yesterday's patch I was sitting at -11 skill points. I know they added more skill points at certain levels. Could this have caused an issue?
Did the new patch break this? I saw that you had to update More Ability Points and I was showing a negative point value after the patch in abilities before you updated. I'm seeing the same thing in attributes, after updating the More Ability Points mod I also noticed my attributes are in a negative value post-patch.
I’m guessing it’s a Game Pass specific problem then, since that’s what I’m playing on and it seems like I’m not the only one with the issue. Any idea how I might be able to fix it, or do you have the ability to look at what’s going on with the GP version?
I am running the gamepass version and its working fine with the x2, make sure you don't accidentally delete the moreattributes files thinking they were the old moreabilites files by mistake like I did either :)
I hope no one else has asked this already, but I'm having an issue!
I just hit level 11, and I didn't receive any points this level. Every other level up until now has worked perfectly fine. Is this a game mechanic, or has something wrong happened?
I have an amalgamation of your mods, including more attribute points, ability points, weight, etc.
Is it possible that the game calculates the total amount of points I could've earned at like level 20, saw I had spent 20 points, and stopped giving me any more?

1.1 - added x5 More Attributes version.
1.2 - added x3 More Attributes version, fixed x5 and x2 versions (no more free points on level 1).

(Triple tested)
PD: More atributes is working fine
The extra ability points works, but not the attribute points one.

Or explain how to edit the value in your mod ?
