NOTES Since patch 1.3 customizable .ini doesn't work. Pick one of cooked versions: x2 adds 2 points per level and 4 every 5th level (35 vanilla points -> 70) x3 adds 3 points per level and 6 every 5th level (35 vanilla points -> 105) x5 adds 5 points per level and 10 every 5th level (35 vanilla points -> 175) vanilla plus adds 1 point per level, but plus 5 every 5th level (35 vanilla points -> 53).
CHANGELOG 1.3 - added x5 version. don't ask for more versions, mod has enough.
Dropped the files where they are supposed to go. Worked fine for all versions (x2, x3, x5) and retroactively. Game version is the latest at time of writing (v1.3.1).
Thanks for this!
Bit of personal opinion for anyone wondering which to use:
x2 feels like what the game should be like. Good for using two skill trees. x3 is good for a jack of all trades character that wants to use all three skill trees. x5 feels like straight up cheating. Vanilla Plus is good for when you want a bit more and don't want to progress "too" quickly in the early game.
Bro ive read like every comment 5 pages deep and tried copying the mod files into every recommended file and all of the diff types (x2...etc) but none are working. Am i missing something or is the mod just broken now? all the others work fine just this one seems to be broken
could you try to be a little more understanding and less of a prick in these replies? neither of the four versions of the new cooked ones is working. yes i followed the exact steps. the attributes one is working fine, but this one isnt. any solutions aside from just "read sticky"?
So you disrespectfully ask for support without telling which game platform you are using. I use Steam and it works as it should on 1.3 version of the game. Just in case, I've deleted the "not working anymore" line from my game.ini, if you have it delete it.
Also for testing, try to put mod's file in PAKS instead of ~mods folder.
what I would do if some other modder's mod didn't work for me.
I'd read desc page modder compiled to make installation easier for me, then I'd read sticky where modder gathered additional info that might help me and then I'd read comments, to check out maybe there are people with my setup for which mod works after all. then, after finding that issue is on my side, I'd think about what input I need to provide to a modder making mods that cost me nothing, to let him help me. I'd at least post my game platform, game version, path where I installed the mod, make a screen in the game that shows that mod doesn't work and ask what else should I provide to let modder kindly troubleshoot my issue.
and if that would be too much hassle for me, I wouldn't bother modder at all, because modders don't have telepathic abilities to figure my setup and they owe me nothing to boot. because right, mods are free.
So like, i downloaded the x5 version of this mod, unzipped it, added it to the mods folder in paks and everything but it doesnt work. its just not giving me any points. the attribute points mod i downloaded (and like all the other mods i downloaded, pretty much all of which were from you) have all worked, but this one wont. idk what im doing wrong here
latest mod's version (1.3) works fine with the latest steam version of the game which is 1.3.0. maybe you are not aware that you need to update the mod when new version of it is released?
Can you make a x7 version? That's what I was using before the .ini version broke from the update. Someone had done the math and figured out that x7 is what you need to be able to unlock all abilities at max level. Thanks.
if it had only a trait (aka ability) related entry, you can delete it, game will restore vanilla one. or you can leave it, it doesn't matter, that setting doesn't work anymore.
if you have other game.ini settings, like respec or camp times, leave respected values ofc.

I play on the Game Pass version. Make sure to follow the instructions. For me the file path is:
C:\XboxGames\Avowed\Content\Alabama\Content\Paks\~mods
Thank you!
