A small warning for the future: there will be a 2.0.0 version of this dropping shortly after Patch 7 which will probably take a little finangling to get working with any existing saves.
2.0.0 will bring some minor visual cleanups, an optional alternate texture set to override the base, and a little shuffling of tiers + vendor locations. Also helmet visuals for Dragonborn that are loosely fitted for their heads, albeit not quite for the horns.
if you're on Patch 7 I don't have any specific advice, haven't had issues in personal testing or reports that can be traced back to this specific mod- probably would be best to search through general troubleshooting about the game not loading on Patch 7
if you're on Patch 6 still I'm pretty sure the latest version of this mod isn't backwards compatible, anything under 2.0.0 in the file archive should be ok in that case
Yeah I just can't figure out why this mod won't load. I'm on the newest version, my graphics settings have been tested at both high, mid and low, and other mods are loading fine. Even your other heavy bowgun is having the same issue. A real shame
sorry for the late reply, haven't had a lot of info to go on and still don't, exactly
but a couple other authors and I have been looking into weirdness with some more recent toolkit mods that import a certain kind of custom texture (both this armor mod and the demonbreaker caliver fall under that) and how the game itself seems to have trouble handling that atm
there's the beginnings of a theory that maybe infinite loading could be related to that as well
to help test out with more users, could you do us a favor and check if you have this same loading issue with a couple mods from mod.io that are known to have custom textures?
I know this one in particular was made for the express purpose of testing textures: https://mod.io/g/baldursgate3/m/vt-test
try installing that, then see if the game hangs up on restart
if you're comfortable sharing, could you provide some more details on the environment you're running in? Platform/OS, hardware specs maybe? To help narrow down when the issue occurs
Actually, something you could perhaps try in the meantime/could provide some more testing info as well
If you haven't tried this already
If you keep the .pak file in your mods folder but have it disabled, try launching the game
If you're able to get to the main menu from there, try enabling it through the in-game mod manager and see if you can then load a save from there? Long shot and again idk if that's already what you're doing, but also curious about this behavior

Did this and I could load the save. I do use BG3MM normally tho.
You can try that with the armor mod too then probably (if that's not what you already tested with)
You would have to disable after closing the game and reenable in game, but it'd be a workaround in the meantime if it turns out you can load the save/start a new game with mod that way
I have the same exact problem, patch 7, newest version of the mod, loading gets stuck on 81% and there's no way of fixing it, which is a shame because i love this armor
idk how much I can share but there is something the game devs are currently looking into internally that may be related to the loading hangup
in the meantime you can try what was discussed further up in the thread with launching with the mod disabled and enabling it in-game though, though apparently in other similar cases with different mods it doesn't always work
i'm basically having to do that with all my mods every time i start it up (which is unbearable already while i'm trying to set up my full loadout), so sadly i guess i've already tried that
So after some constant testing this morning I seemed to have found the issue. These mods seem to have a conflict with each other. I gathered all of the mods that was having the loading problem and they only had this issue when loaded with any other mod causing this issue, eg; Avernus Warhound Armor and More Weapons by Guigodead. But when they are run by themselves (as in with no other loading issue mod) they run fine. I didn't even have to remove any other mods or change my load order.
I have a small piece of info that may or may not help, since my last comment. I managed to get my load order working and in check, but i noticed your mods (this one, the bowgun, ardia's dress) seem to just not want to load, even when loaded in the game alone and it's a problem i seem to have also with the "more helmets" mod. These are all mods i like and wish i could use, so if you find out what it is that causes this behaviour, i would love to know.
It's looking like it's possibly related to an in-game loading issue that's currently being investigated, emphasis on the possibly though
(For people who are able to load this mod and similar ones - similar probably being those including custom Virtual Textures made via the toolkit- it's not possible to uninstall/delete the underlying mod file when launching the game with it enabled
The loading hangup has been observed to happen for some people with the same kind of mods, so we're just hoping that the dev fix for the file locking bug fixes that too)
This is already great. I have a few ideas if you interested
1. military fabric texture -> it would be great if we can have alternative texture more like military fabric texture
2. headlight eye effect on helmet -> red search light in eye will be great looking
3.helmet standalone -> I like modeling of the gas mask. sometime I have my char wear only gas mask without body armor and it still looks great. but there is some kind of blank neck seam when the helmet is only equipped. and I assume this is for implementation purpose. it's still fine but it would be great if we can have standalone version of the helmet
Do you think in the future that you'll make slight variations to the armor depending on the rarity of the item? like if the legendary varient had the gold look it does and has more armor/pouches on it?
It's something that's been crossing my mind yeah, no idea of when I'd get around to it though
I've been putting off visual touchups for the short race models n might wanna do that first so additions are easier, just not looking forward to that initial bit of work lol
Dunno if anyone will see this but small request for people to report if the higher rarity pieces are showing up in the spoilered vendors as expected- Was working last time I checked but not sure if I borked something in the public versions or just a local testing one

Just have to hang tight for any news then, hopefully whatever's being investigated with base game rn turns out to be the root cause
