The ArchFey bug was fixed in Patch#1 (Aug 25th) but Warlock multiclassers still can't choose to expend Warlock spell slots over regular spell slots when casting from their multiclass spell book or when using special abilities, like Create Sorcery Points.
Mod description has been updated to reflect the bug changes in Patch#1. Uninstallation information has been updated for people having trouble uninstalling.
I don't know why this isn't working correctly. I start as a Warlock 1, then switch to a Bard 1. No conversion ability.
I spec to Bard 2, there's two new abilities available on level up. A Lv1 Spell Slot and two similar-looking icons next to it, but when I mouse over them only a small, empty box appears as the tooltip and after I finish leveling up those two icons are nowhere to be found on my character sheet or the hotbar.
Like some poster earlier asked this would work better as a free action since you are supposed to be able to do it on the fly.
In addition converted Warlock slots should not convert to an equal level spell slot but a max caster level spell slot eg a lvl 7 Sorcerer/3 Warlock should convert their Warlock slots to Sorcerer spell slot level 4 rather then 2. Of course further multiclassing make it even more complicated for example a 6 Bard/3 Sorcerer/3 Warlock should convert Warlock spell slots into spell level 5 but I don't know if that is doable modwise.
Because Warlocks when multiclassed don't work like other casters. Other casters add their own casting level into one combined spellbook. Warlocks when multiclassed don't add their caster level instead Warlock spell slots can cast ANY known spell in the combined spellbook.
https://5thsrd.org/rules/multiclassing/
"Pact Magic. If you have both the Spellcasting class feature and the Pact Magic class feature from the warlock class, you can use the spell slots you gain from the Pact Magic feature to cast spells you know or have prepared from classes with the Spellcasting class feature, and you can use the spell slots you gain from the Spellcasting class feature to cast warlock spells you know."
That doesn't say what you're implying. If you're a Warlock 1, then you have 1 level one Warlock spell slot that can cast spells from the Warlock spell book or the multiclass spellbook. Likewise, you can use your multiclass to cast any spells you know from your level 1 Warlock spell book. It doesn't change the level of your Warlock spell slot.
The warlock spell slots should NOT be limited like this by warlock level.
You either misread our conversation or the link you provided. Our conversation was about whether Warlock spellslots should be upgraded to your multiclass level, your link is about the spells themselves. You can upcast spells from your Warlock spell book using regular spell slots with or without this mod, which is what the article you linked is talking about.
Yeah, this should be a free action. I just want to be able to cast my smites again with my Warlock slots as I could when I had a Warlock 5/Paladin 3 distribution, without needing to waste even a bonus action. Was quite surprised to see the slots bugged when I respec'd to Warlock 4/ Paladin 5 (don't want to abuse the attack stacking bug)
Is there actually some reason to use this in combat? Can you not convert your warlock spell slots immediately after resting, or cast using regular spell slots then regain those spell slots by converting afterwards? As far as I'm aware, you gain the full benefit of the mod by converting at any point between rests with no benefit from using it in combat, so the action cost seems irrelevant. My playthrough is with a Sorlock, so I can't speak with certainty for other classes but, I've had zero reasons to ever use it in turn based mode, going from lvl6->12 with the mod active.
If I remember, and I need to update the mod again for some other reason, then I can make the change, but I don't want to update the mod for something that's functionally irrelevant.
This is not a fix it is a cheat and I can say that because the thing it is trying to "fix" is not broken. In 5e they ruled for DMs who allow multiclassing in the game when someone is tempted to abuse the combination of Flexible Casting and Pact Magic, remember this: one way to read the multiclass rules is that your Pact Magic slots are useless for any non-warlock thing besides casting spells. Plus there is still the fact that after not taking long rests for extended periods players are supposed to get exhausted (something Larian did not put in but it is in the default rules for 5e to combat this exploitive behavior). Even ignoring that though the end result is that they have said it should be up to the DM on if things like this are allowed or not and the dm in this case is Larian who made it clear by not making it possible in vanilla. Using this obvious exploit you could get infinite spells by having 3 levels Warlock and at least 2 levels Sorcerer. Turning Warlock Spellslots into Sorcery Points and then converting the Sorcery Points into Temporary Spellslots using the Sorcerer's Font of Magic. Temporary Spellslots reset only on a Long Rest but warlock Spellslots regenerate on a Short Rest. The build then never long rests and simply acquires Temporary Spellslots by taking a short rest and converting the Warlock Slots. The 3rd level Warlock's Pact of the Tome Eldritch Invocation: Aspect of the Moon specifically states the character never has to sleep again. So poof infinite spell slots but let me be clear I am not saying do not use this or that you shouldnt have made this (if you all wanna be cheaters go right ahead). I am saying you shouldn't lie and call it a fix when it is clearly a cheat.
It's pretty obvious you've never actually tried playing the game. Your rant is completely inaccurate.
First, you CAN convert warlock spell slots into sorcery points in the base game. What you CAN'T do is choose to do so before spending your multiclass spell slots. So if you have 2 level 2 Warlock spell slots and 3 level 2 Sorcerer spell slots, you need to spend your 3 level 2 Sorcerer spell slots before you can spend your 2 level 2 Warlock spell slots. This bug extends to casting spells as well, which is what this mod addresses.
You CAN'T get infinite spell slots this way because the game limits you to two short rests per long rest, something anyone who has actually played the game would know. But, if you COULD gain infinite spell slots this way, then you would be able to do so in the base game as well because, again, you CAN convert Warlock spell slots into sorcery points in the base game.
Aspect of the Moon isn't even IN the game, again play the damn game before casting judgment.
I don't know if there has been some errata saying you can't use Warlock spell slots for sorcery points, but I didn't see it and Larian allows it. Here's what I did find when googling it: https://twitter.com/JeremyECrawford/status/596189921318023168?lang=en
Someone asked Crawford about Coffeelocks (the players who try to turn every hour of downtime into a short rest in order to have infinite sorcerer spell slots) and he said, essentially, that since Warlock slots are treated differently than multiclass slots ruling that they can't be converted into spell points is perfectly valid. Note that this isn't errata, it's Crawford putting his seal of approval on a way to rein in a player who's ruining the game.
That said, as you point out there's no way for that exploit to work in BG3, so your mod just makes Warlock/Sorcerer MC more favorable.
Man to hell with "Crawford says" arguments, the dude is not the sole creator and balancer of the god damn game and his judgments are just as flawed as anyone else's case an point from reddit:
"As a DM I try to be flexable but stick to the rules as much as possible but Jeremy Crawford's ruling at times are extremely questionable and I tend to overrule them if I feel they are wrong now. Back when Storm Kings Thunder was released I asked him if the Crag cats CR and type were correct as it was a CR 1 Beast with spellturning and none detection traits which obviously can easily break encounters if there is a moon druid in the party. At the time he confirmed it was correct and saw no issue with it as a wild shape option couple of months back now its been fixed and is no longer a beast. Gee I wonder if it had anything to do with a level 2 druid having the ability to bounce back spells of 6th level or lower...."
I didn't know that was an issue but since this mod converts your Warlock spell slots into regular spell slots, it would effectively work around this bug as well.
I would like to point out that once the total level go above 12, the 'warlock conversion' action stops working.
I experimented multiple combinations of warlock/sorcerer levels, but whenever I pass the level 13 mark, the warlock conversion action is permanently greyed out and clicking it does nothing.
i.e. my sorcerer 10/warlock 2 character can use warlock conversion just fine, but after I level it to lv20 (sorcerer 11 / warlock 9) it no longer works.
I use UnlockLevelCurve mod to unlock the levels past 12 by the way.
It will only work with multiclassing past level 12 if you keep your warlock level below 7. That is, it caps out at converting level 3 to level 3. Alternatively, if you keep your Warlock spellslots higher than your multiclass spellslots then you avoid the problem entirely.
I don't use a level unlocker myself so making the mod fully compatible post 12 is low priority for me. I'm mostly making mods to improve my own game as I go along, it's unlikely I'll look into this further before I finish my first playthrough. Hopefully Larian themselves will fix this issue soon.
Just a heads up, it may be obsolete but if you've already installed this in your playthrough, you may not be able to remove the mod without bricking the playthrough. I removed it thinking it's no longer necessary since it's already doing what the current patch does, but then my game just kept crashing when trying to load the related save, even after I updated every other mod that I knew for sure were broken by the patch.
Once I moved this back, it was all back to normal, so be careful with removing things willy nilly!
The Archfey bug was fixed. You can cast spells from your Warlock spell book using your Warlock spell slots, but you still can't choose to cast spells from (for example) your sorcerer spell book using your Warlock spell slots until all your regular spell slots are exhausted. You also still can't use your Warlock spell slots to create sorcery points until your regular spell slots (of that level) are exhausted.
TLDR: It's still bugged.

It's not obsolete yet, see above. To uninstall: Load your save with this mod installed. Take a Long Rest. Save. Exit game. Uninstall mod. Load game. Save without mod. These steps are necessary for anyone who has used the ability since their last Long Rest in their current save.

Anyway thanks for looking into these issues.
