Update 01/28/2025 (sorry for the double post and the late reply)

    [PC/Steam, Patch 7]

Using the console command after the fight with Viconia seems to be useless since Shadowheart's locked in a single line of dialogue about finding her parents, it doesn't matter if you visit the night orchid hideaway right after combat's over. The "!" pops up but you won't be able to follow through.

Instead, running it before entering the House of Grief (after the graveyard and graffiti dialogues) triggers the smells "!" interaction and SH will choose her parents with no Tav's input or skill check, so it works as intended.

Thanks again, it never made sense to me that you had to persuade her.

Story-wise, should I run this script exactly before entering the House of Grief? I'm asking because I'm not aware of any way to visit SH's hideout before fighting Viconia (Selunite path) so by then, only the graffiti and the grave would be active.

I think you can run this right before crossing beyond into the Threshold of Loss. I've never tried it that late.

You can do whatever you want in the House of Grief and go check out the hideout and THEN cross to find her parents. I think that's the natural way to do it. That would be the final point.

Running this would just ensure it.

Yeah, I usually deal with the Sharrans, visit the hideout and then open the room. I'll run the script right before activating the mammon scale, see what happens. I'm still in Act 1 in my present run though, so I'll edit this post later this week. Thank you for the reply!

Is this compatible with Really Shadowheart?

Hi there, this is just a code to set the flag telling the game that the memories have been experienced.

Looking at that mod it seems that while the points matter less, they do still matter. So I'll go out on a limb and say that mine probably does work with it.
I haven't yet used that mod (though I have downloaded it), so it's more likely that you should ask that author. They seem to be really involved and active and far FAR FAR more knowledgeable about modding and the functionality of the game than I do.

I just fiddled around and found a few codes, I would not call myself a modder at all. I'm blown away by the capabilities of that mod.

Thanks for your reply! Will give yours a shot when I get around to my playthrough. Simple, complex - it's all modding, though I got to agree, the author of that mod does exceptional work in making Shadowheart feel like an even more believable character.

Shadowheart killed Nightsong on my run so we were on our way to full Dark Justiciar but I purposely hit all the flags to have her choose to spare her parents and defy Shar. My game bugged and didn't do this and she kept choosing to kill them despite all the right flags.

Dropped this in before entering the chamber of loss (patch 6) and everything seems to work! The right lines for post-Nightsong killing etc. Will update if anything is whacky but it's nice to have her make the choice herself after everything we found and how much it made her doubt.

Thank you SO MUCH for this <3

I've been waiting for this fix because when you have too many nightsong points the 3 memories unfortunately get very bugged and won't work. Unfortunately, I do not know how to use bg3 table.. So I'll have to wait for the hopeful fix in patch 7 unless someone makes the fix and turn it into a pak for script extender. Overall this is great! keep up the great work :)

I'm going to try to make a version that can just be pasted into Script extender.

Edit 2: There's now a version you can paste into the console directly. Instructions on the description page. Enjoy.

How exactly does one "paste" a file into bg3 script extender? I found your steps very confusing. I also can't find anything about it online, please help!

Hey there, so you need to make sure that you have the console enabled. It's a black box with loads of text that opens when you launch the game. If you're running the game and switch to this box more and different text will type out and change. That is the console.

If you don't have this box of text then here's a tutorial.
      https://wiki.bg3.community/en/Tutorials/Mod-Use/How-to-install-Script-Extender

Step 4 should be what you need.

Once you do that you'll see the black box. Then my instructions on the details page should make more sense.

Open the text file from my mod (one file extension is .CT and that's a cheat table for Cheat Engine, not that one. The other one ends in txt, that one). And in there is a command. That's what my instructions mean on the front page.

If you can't open the 7z file that I've uploaded, you need to download https://www.7-zip.org and that should be all you need.

Let me know if you need any other help.

      Good luck

I will just wait for the new patch. As I am pretty sure those files were trying to hide for a reason, *coughs*.

    Kinda confusing.
I think it was tied to the nightsong Save the nightsong shar gets vengeance by killing shadowhearts parents.
Kill the nightsong shadowheart becomes a dark justicar and shar rewards her loyalty by allowing her parents to live.
That is what I thought .Had 0 to do with her memory retention. Anyway not sure what difference this mod does other than maybe add a few lines of dialogue here or there. Not criticizing  it the more the merrier. I feel some confusion over its purpose.

It makes the parents survival "Shadowheart's decision". Personally I like it better saying, "I'll leave it up to you" and having her say, "I only just found them." and then saving them. It's an RP choice.

My first run through of the game and Shadowheart said that she's only just found her parents and wanted to free them.
My second run they turned into moonmotes.
My third run I saw all three places and she still didn't choose to free her parents and they became moonmotes again.
I've run into this effect, too. I feel it makes no sense. It's rather a Sharran thing to sacrofice her parents and "forget§ about them. At least in my eyes with the ken of the Lore i have. Larian was not always correct with the Lore, i guess. :P

It is more the good path, to take the poain and save the parents i think. Pain can be dealt with as Jaheira once said.

Plus, i had the epilogue scene with Selunite Shadowheart lasst time, no romance but still ahving her parents. I feel she seems happier and more staidfied with herself and the world that way.

I may try this mod, thanks for your work. :)

Yep, Cheat engibe is in the modding scene kinda outdated since there is mods like "Easy Cheat" and the cosnole. :D

Thaqnks for giving an option for both ways. :)
