You can trigger Alfira's recruitment scene by long resting after helping her to finish the song while in Act 1.
THIS IS A WORK-IN-PROGRESS AND THERE WILL BE FURTHER UPDATES AS I PROGRESS HER THROUGH THE STORY. AT TIME OF WRITING SHE HAS BEEN TESTED UP TO THE END OF ACT 1.
What it Does
- A fully voiced recruitment scene derived from the equivalent Dark Urge encounter is included, as well as basic join/dismiss dialogue.
- Alfira is a fully functional party member; she can level up, multiclass, and re-spec.
- She comes equipped with her iconic outfit, but you can re-dress and re-gear her as you wish.
- You can set a position for Alfira in each camp you visit and she will return to it and play idle animations.
What it Doesn't Do
- Alfira doesn't have any dialogue recorded for party banter, point & click interactions, etc and this mod doesn't add any.
- You must manually swap her in and out of your party once recruited; at present there is no "take X's place" interaction.
How to Install
Use LaughingLeader's Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager, Vortex (untested), or get it via the in-game mod manager.
FAQ
Q: Alfira's recruitment scene isn't triggering. What's wrong?
A: Try taking a few long rests. You might have other scenes queued up. Also, make sure that all the criteria are met:
- She must have been helped to finish her song.
- You must not have finished Act 1.
- The Grove must not have been raided.
- You must not be the Dark Urge.
Q: Can you make a Dark Urge version?
A: At present I am concentrating on getting the mod working for Tav/Origin playthroughs. I may consider (resisting) Dark Urge in the future.
Q: What is the difference between this mod and the one on Mod.io ?
A: No difference. You can get the mod from wherever you prefer.
Q: Is this compatible with [insert favorite mod here] ?
A: It should be compatible with most things, but will be incompatible with anything else which alters either Alfira's stats or appearance.
Q: Can you make a mod for [insert other favorite character here] ?
A: This mod is way too ambitious by itself for me to consider doing the same for anyone else. You might enjoy my Custom Companions mod for "recruiting" other characters.
