Hey ya, I've just installed the spear, quarterstaff, and trident packs as well as their 2H counterparts and I'm having the same issue GreyKnight01 described. White aka non-magical versions of those weapons are receiving the Finesse tag, but magical versions are not :( (and the 2H packs are loaded ahead of the others as directed in your install description)
I'm not sure if it's working fine for others and this is something I'm just doing wrong? Or if an update for this is still on the way, but I do see the files were all reuploaded after the timestamps of looking at the issues with GreyKnight01 so I thought I'd just check?

The 1.4 versions are the ones that are working with my testing. Currently thats only battleaxe, clubs, longswords and flails. I aiming to get the rest done before the weekend is over and then rebuil the 2H variants next week.
I'm trying to get this mod to work. I used the glaives, handaxes, javelins, longswords, sickles, spears, tridents core mods, and the longsword 2H, spears 2H, and trident 2H. All downloaded with Vortex, and load orders adjusted with the BG3MM (other mods >> core finesse weapon mods >> 2H only variants).
The core mods seem to work as intended, a finesse tag is added to the correct weapon types. But the variants seem to not work properly. Common weapons that had the finesse tag looses them when variant mods are added, while uncommon weapons keep the finesse tag regardless of whether shields are equipped. I do not see the "two handed finesse" buff as shows in the screenshots for longswords, spears or tridents.
i didnt get around to updating and fixing the 2H only versions. Which is why they are still marked as 1.4. I think they are just missing the magic weapon entries, but i don't remember. It's not hard to fix if somone else wants to do it. I cant prom,ise i will ever get around to it.
Just curious, do you think it's possible to add the finesse property to monk's unarmed strike, so it can use sneak attack and other finesse specific requirements too?
I tried editing the unarmed weapons without any luck. It might be possible, but not the way ive made the other mods. I might look into it further but no promises.
Heya, I seem to be getting the Finesse tag for my weapons (Spears and Quarterstaves) but the damage in the tooltip remains at 5-12 (same as without the mod) and doesn't seem to scale with dexterity at all (got 18 Dex). Mods are loaded at the very end, though I don't have any other gameplay mods other than "Better Dual Wielding" which shouldn't affect this I guess. Normally using the weapons with an empty off-hand but filling the off-hand just changes the tooltip to 4-10 dmg.
They are probably incompatible. BDW seems to add and remove it's own weapon property, similar to the way my 2 handed versions do. Which means it's editing the same thing as my mod (weapon entries, properties line).
If you could confirm by testing my mod on a new save without any other mods i would be grateful. I've started a new job recently and don't have much time.

Yes, that will be done after i finish rebuilding the rest of the modules to 1.4.
I am planning one that includes the ones i think finesse makes sense for. Would you prefer one that just includes every weapon? (you would still be able to open it and delete the modules you dont want).
Honestly, I think maybe a pak with the author's choice (if that's what you're thinking of doing), is a great idea or even just a zip/rar file with just the weapons you pick would be nice and my go to. I didn't dare expecting a curated selection, but I'm happy you're up to it! <3
But going forward, I think it might be easier for you and everyone else to just have a zip/rar with ALL the options inside and the user can delete what they don't want. It's easier to download just a file (especially for non-premium users). It also facilitates keeping track of updates and releases you from the very panful need of having to upload 921472934792849 single files and risk wrong naming, wrong file, duplicates and etc.
I'm not worried about forward compatibility. Patch 7 was likely the biggest overhaul to modding that will ever happen and the only thing it affected for me, was refusing to load one of my mods, because there was a typo in it's UUID.
I am specifically interested in good UX and convenience to the user. So i will likely continue as is and add a curated pack or 2 once the individuals are done and a pack that just includes everything. Modular is in the title, so i want the user to have all the options. The curated pack would also be beneficial to vortex users that want to use collections (not that i would reccomend them).
I do not know what the issue is, but if installed through Vortex only Quarterstaves works and if installed through BG 3 Mod Manager they do not work at all. Only weapon mods I have are the ones that give the shart spear the trait that allows them to scale with wisdom. I tried moving them up and down my load order and that also did not do anything.
Could you elaborate on how its not working? which weapons? normal version or 2H versions? is it preventing your save from loading? is it not showing up in the ingame mod manager? are you getting an error message?
The shar spear mod you have shouldn't be causing any issues, it's probably an issue my .meta files.
Everything but longswor and warpick is working for me. I had to upload a new greatclub version just now, there was a mistake in its files. Im working on the other 2 now.
It was the normal versions and it was not preventing loading when I am had them enabled or disabled them. No error message. Sorry for the slow response.
Ok, as of right now the finesse tag is appearing on only white rarity long sword, glaive, and quarterstaves. Not showing at all on great sword or spear. These are the only ones I am using. I even checked my stats to see if maybe it WAS active but the tag was just missing but no that is not happening.
correct and it's more than just those. Im working on it now. It's weird phalar aluve and white longsword work correctly, but sussor longsword doesnt have finesse. It seems like larian might not have set them to inherit the base weapon entry for some reason.
Figured it out. I will need to reupload every one. Magic weapons add the magic property, which overides the inheritenc eof the base weapon. so i have to edit those entries too. Compatibility and existing saves should be unnaffected.
Sorry it took me a while to be ACTUALLY helpful. Liked, endorsed, and kudos given. It makes me wonder if that is why with the toolkit release we were locked out of editing default gear because of weird little interactions like that. At least until it was unlocked anyway.
No, I did not mean to imply fault. More like Larian wanted to keep us contained in a way so that something was not broken on accident by the player. I have been playing around the toolkit and all I can figure out to make is back pack so far. Thank you for your time and your mod.
