Appreciate you guys showing the love by voting and awarding this a solid mod of the month for September. The "Valkrana's" series has been a huge labor of love and passion project for me—and it's been truly rewarding to see Valkrana get so much recognition over the past year.
Patch 8 Compatible If you experience an issue, please give a clear and detailed explanation.
Requesting mod support While it's easy af for other mods to add support for Valkrana's spells to their spell lists, I realize that most just plain don't. I'm open to adding spell list support for most any mod, but I ask that you get the mod UUID and spell list UUIDs from the mod creator beforehand. All modded warlock subclasses should now be supported if you have Script Extender installed.
Larian's mod manager and Mod.io Mod.io sucks. My mods work (mostly) perfectly fine as-is. There's little reason and no necessity to recreate mods in the Toolkit (which also royally blows for handling data) just to re-release on a dollar store mod platform.
Known issue: Sometimes Unsealed Soul doesn't automatically drop itself into your hotbar when you prepare it. You can either drag it there or find it under individual spell levels. Don't know why.
Hi Valkrana. This is mod is great (as all your other mods are) but I would like to try modifying a tiny aspect of it.
I was looking to use this mod but I kinda wanted the spells to only be available to Wizard. Is there any way I can achieve that? If you tell me what to delete from the files I can try. I've made plenty of mods by now but ScriptExtender and scripting in general eludes me (and I don't want to learn for now lol), but deleting some lines of text from the files using Visual Studio should be easy I guess if you could maybe tell me what to look for...
Player Classes. I don't mind if enemies have it. I just would like if when it comes to player classes, only Wizards have them. Could you give me some pointers on what to delete to get that result?
i am absolutely obsessed with this mod. corpse grenade is my new best friend (and impart undeath has proven really useful for rping an undead character of mine, which is originally what i installed it for.) thank you, legend
Thanks for dropping by just to leave a nice comment. Undead player myself, and wanted the option initially too, though I used it without the extra healing. Wear eye protection, though. Otherwise, all those bones hurled in the Corpse Grenade VFX might put an eye out.
Hey there! I might gonna create a bug report, but Bone Liquefaction seems to be bugged. :( I don't know how to post pictures on this site, but essentially it procs WAAAAAYYY too many times, especially against bosses like Ansur. It procced 10+ times, not sure if you ever encountered this problem!
Yeah, it's a thing with how dragons work behind the scenes. Been aware, but a fix without just making the spell work entirely differently is the issue. Actually encountered it on Ansur myself haha. In a future update, I'll just disable it against dragons. Sometimes the best solution isn't the prettiest solution.
Ha ha, he literally melted in 2 rounds! Don't get me wrong btw I LOVE the spell, and I much rather just not use it against bosses then, but I did experience this issue a couple of times, usually against bosses or bigger monstas.
Anyways since you are aware of the issue I wont make a report, if you can't fix it just leave it as it is.:)
What other bosses? Some mobs are a few puzzle pieces put together to look like one creature, and that's why they have this behavior: the parts are all being affected. Easy for me to exempt a few dudes like I'll be doing for dragons.
My favorite mods are the extra encounter ones - including yours - by far. She's super tough (especially combined with Skeletal Challenge and Combat Extender), but it's really fun! You can't just autopilot really need to think and prepare, and despite her being alone (well, usually) and thus the action economy being always in the favor of the player, it has plenty of ways to take characters out of the fight which makes the fight difficult. (Usually when bosses left alone - including the likes of Raphael - are very easy to deal with from that point on, no matter how strong they are simply because they cant kill the party members fast enough.)
Yara is also really tough (of course I got one during the Myrkul fight xD), but imho the Gilded one is a bit too easy in comparison, but that's just me.
Thanks, Mao was a whole lot of work to put together (you had her simulacrums appear, yeah?). Had to split her off into her own separate files she has so much under the hood. I'll look at buffing gilded a bit, though. Maybe something to set it aside from the random one, too.
She did, yes! But not in all my playthroughs. It is a wild guess, but I think in the ones I used Mystra Spells from mod.io instead of 5e spells, she didn't do it (neither the teleport you out of the room thing), not sure if it has anything to do with it though, I just noticed.
And yeah for 6k gold + a legendary artifact I do feel like that the Gilded guy should be stronger! However, considering that he's not in a optional location since you must fight him if you want to get through deeper into the bank, it may not be wise to make him THAT much stronger. (Or he could be relocated somewhere? just not sure where.:(
In an older version, Mao's data had an incorrect pointer for a bit there, so your might've ended up with that during one of those times with no Sims, unfortunately. Didn't realize until I saw someone fight her, since I don't fight her every time I update. Should be fine now, though.
For the Gilded, I could just move him to that vault to the left there, so you can cruise by if you want. But I do like the idea of buffing him a bit, so I'll see about both. Thanks for the input.
Are you sure though? I faced her a week ago too with the same mod version (in a playthru I used slightly different mods, including Mystra Spells instead of 5e) and she didn't use it at all.
Np, I think it'd be fun if he was stronger too! Just yeah, some would probably complain if it wasn't optional then.
Strange. As far as I could tell in all my tests, it's working as intended. Don't use it, but only thing Mystra's spells should change is that Mao has access to fewer spells. Already did a bit of a buff to him, just testing it.
Never explored BG3's vanilla options so not totally sure where I'll end up. But I do know I love skeletal hoards and making corpses explode. So whatever leads me towards themes like that. May have a little Ainz Ooal Gown influence in there somewhere, lol. I've added a number of your other mods to the mix so I'm sure I'll have plenty of fun choices.
Overlord is badass, so I can't fault you there. I prefer School of Necromancy wizard. Besides wizard spell list, it gets beefier + extra undead, and Command Undead at level 12/14. But Death Domain cleric is a great option when it comes to dealing necrotic damage. Oathbreaker paladin is only vaguely necro, though Control Undead can be useful at times. Spore druid is also a great option for reanimation, but there's an aesthetic there that might not appeal to you.
Excellent, appreciate the tips. That helps settle this run's romance choice. Tav & Shart are going to be a wonderful duo of undeath. XD On a side note, have you played much with the "Undead Soul" Necro Sorc that ties in with your spells? Was interested in it since I usually use sorcs but wasn't sure how fleshed out it was.
It seems fine to me. Hasn't been updated in over a year is all. Sometimes, it's just unnecessary to update, but with patches 7 and 8 we've seen some stuff get shaken up a bit.
Does this mod have to be put into a new game or can it be put into a started one? I'm using Vortex and the mod is installed but I'm not seeing the spells anywhere.
Edit: I've respect and checked the grove merchant its not there Only mods (in order) are WASD Character Movement Native Mod Loader Native Camera Tweaks Valkrana's Spellbook LsLib/Divine Tool
It works fine in an existing one, but merchants that have already had their items stocked may need a restock. The Grove merchant no longer carries them, but Araj and Sorcerous Sundries do. They're also in spell lists and in the necro scroll loot list
Next Question is it only available for player characters? I am trying to make a wizard necromancer hireling and in her spell list (Lvl 4) they are not there upon a respec so forgive my ignorance, could I ask for clarification to the spell list?
So I did a new save, with a friend with the same mods, Did not recieve them in the leveling screen so i will see if they pop up on my main save (almost to moonrise for the blood lady).
Could this be an error on the vortex launcher side? In the settings what would the mod type be. For example Native Mod Loader has to be labled as an engine injector, I wonder if your mod needs something similar to run properly. I have spent ages looking it over to find anything regarding this. At the moment the mod type is null/blank in the vortex launcher.
Thanks for the mod! Great spells, I especially like Corpse Grenade, there's something very... I don't even know what to call it, satisfying about it? And for Impart Undeath, it really helps with roleplaying a vampire! Any plans to add more spells? If you can, please bring back Bone-Learning Juice in the next update.
I don't know if anyone asked before, but is there a way to turn allies that got infused with the "Impart Undeath" back to normal? I kinda did not know what I did and now I regret it a little. ;_;

All thanks to Valkrana's Negative Energy Field. When he used that spell, I was flabbergasted; he nearly TPK'd my party, I was freaking out.
Bravissimo.

Oh, and that Sorc class seems to be working well despite its age. All bones are rattling! :D

Only mods (in order) are
WASD Character Movement
Native Mod Loader
Native Camera Tweaks
Valkrana's Spellbook
LsLib/Divine Tool
so I dont think its a mod conflict

Edit: F*ck. Just read it. TY. Love the mod.
