Looks like someone in the reddit thread was saying the "correct" way to fix this would be re-ordering the conversation nodes? That the "bugged" node is just first, and thus always slated to play. Does the =false prevent this from playing even when it's meant to?
Honestly, I'll have to dig around some more to be sure. I could mess with the nodes to see if it functions better. Right now - I can't get the "You've got something to say?" greet to play, at least in Act 3 with low approval.
I just wanna say, thank you so SO much for this. I never realized it was just a bug and it was so annoying romancing him in one playthrough and his greeting always being snarky.
He is so much more pleasant to speak to now. You are a hero!
Thank you for this! His greeting was bugged my entire patch 7 run: it only finally started working in act 3 when he used his romance greeting. I'm definitely going to install this so that Wyll functions for my other runs, until Larian fixes this.
thanks for this! Larian is aware of his bugged greetings (they said so when i reported the bug waaaay back when patch 7 came out for PC) I've no idea why they didn't fix it with the recent hot fix when patch 7 came to console????? You would think they would've, but I digress. I'm still going to hold off on romancing him though until they actually fix him... hopefully that will be soon.
i have to ask, is his greeting bugged after Mizora joins camp? I've noticed in Rivington before Mizora shows up he'll have his friendly greeting "always good to talk my friend" but then as soon as she does her little camp scene & Wyll has to make a choice his greeting then changes to "lets talk". Its always been like that for me before the patch even broke his greetings
I don't believe the switch between "Always good to talk, my friend." and "Let's talk." is actually a bug. They're both listed as high approval greetings. As for why he doesn't switch in between the 2, I'm not certain. It may be intentional for Larian to have him stick to predominantly 1 greeting after the story event.
interesting! I suppose your right, it just seems like hes lowkey at low approval when he uses that. I wish they did use both greetings though because you only get the friend greeting for a few long rests while 'lets talk' will be used for the rest of game.
That one I'm curious about. I'm not romancing him in my play, so I wasn't able to test whether his romance greeting also works, but definitely lemme know.

I wonder, will he greet me the same if my char romances him?
