Do you have other mods installed? It might not be this mod since I'm not using it and I'm facing the same issue you are facing. I have some mods which are not confirmed to be working on patch 8 but works when in game. But I think they might be causing those frame dips.
Hi, I tried to install the mod through register editing. However, Reg Files are now archived. Is there a specific reason they aren't available for download anymore? Thanks
@boring3 Thanks for posting this, I'm comfortable enough in the registry to manually make these changes. Well, I say that but running that install file was way faster. So, would I be able to edit in pretty much any game executable into where you have Baldur's Gate 3 listed, to basically save this as a generic priority elevation tool? Also, any reason why you set Page Priority to Below Normal? Just trying to understand for my own future usage of this tool.
Also, to get around Nexus no longer allowing registry files, you can include it as a text document with instructions on what to do. That'll let people like me endorse this mod.
IMHO endorse anyway... the dude took the time to help you out with a specific request. Any contemporary modder that takes time to read the comments let alone take the time to answer a question (with a pretty thorough writeup) deserve all the upvotes.
keep in mind this mod is a band-aid solution to an underlying problem with your computer that you need to look in to if it actually benefits your game's performance otherwise it's just bloat
OP is suggesting that if BG3 performs terribly for you but elevating the process priority remedies it (what this mod is doing), there's something wrong with your system you should look into. if you have no problems with the game, this mod serves negligible purpose and is otherwise bloating the game for no substantial reason
but if you want my personal opinion (separate from OP's post): "it's probably a better idea to upgrade your computer for the long run instead of relying on a mod to do it less efficiently than upgrading would"
performance increase is always nice but if it's to the point where you feel obligated to elevate the process priority to high you should probably look into upgrading your system. i don't expect people to treat turn-based games like FPS games and demand every frame they can get, at least the monitor refresh rate is good enough for me
the whole point of mods like this is for people that CAN'T upgrade their pc so telling them to just upgrade it instead of downloaded a mod is probably the stupidest thing you can say
I see a lot of negative comments, but for me it worked. I had terrible fps in city, sub 5 fps, now I have stable 60+. I have no idea how or why, but at least try it and it's a simple way to "uninstall it", just delete the files that you pasted into bin>NativeMode. Thank you very much for this "addon", helps a lot! <3
Woo, just updated my game to Hotfix#28 today (Steam), and everything is still working hella fine. Didn't even have to reinstall anything, hella nice Larian♥.

WOW , I'm absolutely blown away by so many stunning responses the mod received in just its first day!
Thank you all so much for the amazing support! 🤗
I'm getting some horrible frame dips, from 120 down to 15 for like a second or two. Really annoying.

If you want to edit priority through reg, save this as install.reg and run it
