It's nice and I like it but over all AA no longer feels the emotion of love. He cares for you in a "my loyal property... how lovely you are." He even refuses to ever raise you up. He doesn't outright say it but the hints are all there sadly. He makes a huge thing about "well NO OF COURSE NOT RIGHT AWAY... YOU ... you need time to adjust! ... yes time to adjust!"

Thanks for sharing how you view your OC and AA in the game! It's kind of dark, but as long as you are having fun that's all that matters! Maybe try RP'ing a character that's lovable instead of property next time? [e.g., you could play a character with high charisma or an empathetic character with high wisdom], it's a very rewarding experience in my humble opinion.

It was directed at the writing of a romanced Astarion's reaction, regardless of his "status". So I'm sorry if I came off as rude before. It wasn't meant as criticism against AA or anyone who prefers that route.
Human as in... well "humanity" as in it doesn't matter what race you are because mod have humanity (the word is a term that just represents the normal emotions sentient beings go threw and our reactions to them lore wise. Hence why Gale says "you know what I mean" if you're a nonhuman and he uses the word. It's understood it doesn't really mean just humans). Such as the Gith who don't value humanity in the slightest just like the gobbos. Emotions of love and kindness are considered a weakness to former and are foreign concepts to the latter just like for Loath Sworn Drow.

I am still entirely mystified why you thought it was ever so important to give your view on AA and make sure people on the internet knew that you personally dislike AA.
I may be wrong, but as far as I know, in the original game these phrases sound the same for both AA and UA. And in both cases the phrases sound a little alien. The mod is aimed only at making AA speak more softly. And UA speaks as indifferently. So play as UA and enjoy your indifferent love interest. And AA players will play the way they like. No one is laying claim to your roleplay.
Just watch the BG3 game script instead of angsty AAfanfics and tiktoks and realise that AA and Tav were looking lovingly at each other during intimacy. Larian brought their original idea back into the game in patch 7. The mod does it in more detail. AA=free Astarion canonically.

The ritual didn't do anything to his soul, there's nothing in the game about it except for one line Karlach said to UA, which is what all your headcanons are based on (“He could've had it all, but he kept his soul”). That's all there is to the “losing his soul” theme in the game. A metaphor from one far from the most intellectual companion.
And Astarion begins to experience and show real love after the Ascension, when he was finally able to feel alive again. When he is sure of his beloved consort, who will always be by his side and share eternity with him.

I actually thought it was a bug and that was supposed to only be an ascended line. Real shame that apparently it takes the fun out of that epic Durge moment for for all Astarion romancers. I will download for my next inevitable Durge+Astarion run because I can't quit it, resistDurge and Astarion (throughout the journey and both endings IMO) are just so good together. Thanks!
I didn't even ascend Astarion and he said that line to my Durge and it felt so strange for him to say it. Twee is some pretty odd slang for his 200 year old ass to be using in my Baldur's Gate game. I'm gonna DL this just to remove that immersion crashing line entirely. Twee? Really, Larian? Ffs.
The mod would be more immersion-breaking if you're not romanced to ascended Astarion since he calls you his "sweet little spawn" but maybe someone will make a more neutral/spawn friendly version for those that prefer Spawn! Agreed. Especially in the context of him having such in-depth dialogue when Durge tells him that they realized they're a Bhaal spawn. That "twee" dialogue is equally awful for both spawn and ascended Astarion in my humble opinion. I feel like the line is a little bit easier to tolerate on a friendship route, but still. The whole resurrection scene lacks appropriate reactions from the companions overall tbh. They were all a bit too relaxed over the fact the lord of murder just yoinked out the player out of existence
