so... what's the point? does this actually change a character's visual width and thickness, or make the character easier to pick up and throw, or what?

Hey and Welcome :). Im glad you asked.

It doesnt do anything like that on its own. It only changes the number. (like how you see other npcs does have a different weight value but same model size in game). So you could say its very niche mod. But some players do like to have control over their characters weight. In the same way that you would maybe like control over your own made characters hair color or height, build, backstory etc. Me who do play D&D with friends occasionally, is also used to having much more control over character customization. Which is what inspired me to make this mod.

There are no scripted weight conditions or in game visuals size conditions that has to be met to change size category.
      (its actually just an illusion)

Hidden buffs that are responsible for switching size category. But its not noticeable on the user side in game.
Some spells do both,(Enlarge as an example) it changes size category and applies weight.
But the size category part in game is not at all dependent Weight.

Which is why using this mod doesn't change size category.
(Which is also intended on my end).

To give an example of why i didn't attach weight to size change in game on the sheet and mechanics.

Use the 125KG mod as an example.
Well using BG3 Size category standards and add 125KG to some of these different races.

Orc Should move up to Large.
Halfling should move up from small to medium.
Gnomes should move up from small to medium.
Humans Who is of the 75KG variant is still medium albeit on the maximum limit of Medium weight which is 200KG.
Humans who is 100KG should move from medium to large.
      Same with elves.

While Dwarves Stays in medium at Maximum limit.

So i cant just say +125KG adjust size category to large.
As some would still be go from small to medium. some would be medium and some would be large etc.
Thus attaching say size category with weigh, presents its own issues.

But i do intend to make some mods that lets you adjust character size and another that also does let you change size category. Then you drink 3 potions and you get exactly what you want. Weight, visual size, Size category.

I will also add the advantages that in game mechanics give to creatures that is considered large etc.
So i add(1d4 extra unarmed and weapon damage, Advantage on strength checks. Ingame mechanics like Large creatures can throw around medium and smaller creatures or use them as improvised weapons.

I've wanted something just like this for ages.
I really don't like that this is tied to fears though. Would it not be possible to make this a consumable?

Taking extra feats for this means every other character suddenly has a dozen actual feats.

      Thanks :).

Ive never made a consumable that gives a passive before. Or added it to existing chests etc.
Thats new territory for me. But i see where you are coming from. Tell you what. If you are willing make a new character.
Then i can technicly make a mod that should give you the passive after you exit the character creator. (this method isnt compatible with other mods that does the exact same thing though). Would take me like 5 minutes to make it.

But its very compatible with passives you obtain by other methods. Like by consumables or feats.

What character do you play as?
What weight number do you wish for specifically?  Like how much do you want to subtract/Add?

I really appreciate that offer! However, I'm not 100% sure what or when my next playthrough might be.
Since the modding tools were released, I've been waiting for everything to settle, and with new subclasses in the next patch...
In general though, my taste would be 150kg/225kg.

Fantastic work! I'll get this downloaded asap.
I'm certain what you've learned will come in handy for your future perk mods.
      Thanks. :)

      Thanks :).
For sure, it allows me to bypass the limitations of using feats. While  its also a good way to add stuff aswell.
I will also upload a potion version of my passive mods. Starting with Muscular and brute passives. So people get to pick that aswell.

Hi, does the change appear in cutscenes?

It doesnt adjust your characters visual size.
That requires editing the scale of the character, through something called a scalemultiplier.
When editing visual size, weight doesn't increase or reduce automatically either. So its not like they are combined to begin with.

But if interested i can create such a mod. Where we can adjust overall size.
I will test it out and come back to see if it did change character size in cutscene.

Ah I see, that makes sense. IIRC there is another mod that changes height, but it doesn't work for cutscenes. Might be impossible for all I know.

I did change the size, but it reverted in cutscenes. Same issue for me. Apparently the cutscene cameras are of a different breed entirely than playing camera.

Here is how it work. You see, it reverted back because Larian disabled every SFX for a character that is in a conversation or a cutscene. You'll see a NPC won't lose a SFX if they're not in a conversation / cutscene. The only way to change the height in a cutscene is to enable SFX in a cutscene because Enlarge/Reduce or Scalemultiplier is considered SFX by the game. Or you could beg Larian to implement an option to turn on SFX in a conversation / cutscene but that's not gonna happen, lol.

Ahh, so thats how it works. I wasnt sure that it was the case, as i recalled having seen visual effects on full display in many cutscenes.
Do you know of a good way to solve it?
Like how to enable SFX for cutscenes and conversations?

Slightly odd choice to make it a feat? Are there plans to make it a normal passive too?

Yeah but its a hidden passive.

Reason im mostly making feats. Is due to compatibility and accessibility.
Like if i make it just a passive as i originally did.
I need to create one for every character type.
Now its Just one file with feat and instantly accessible to all characters.

So for now im recommending mods that gives players more feats :).
As a workaround. So one can get all the things they want.

I know some  modders add their passives to potions in a chest in tutoria level nautiloid.
But that has the same issue. I had in a sense.

You must usually restart the game to get there. While the work around
there. Is downloading a mod that grants access to the tutorial chest at
any time in the game. At which point you already need a second mod
      anyways.

The way my feats work now. for example bane of tyranny, vampire ascendant, golden emberskin. Is i can download them all and use them all in the same session. But before when locked to origin characters for example, each one would fight for the same space essentially.

People reported not seeing their passives ingame etc. (which is because you had to restart on a new save for the game to give you the passive, when attached to origin) Didnt know that at the time i made it though, that it only gives passive right after character creator.
Thus this became my go to method.

Hmmm is there a way Choose Your Stats can make your feat accessible for free? I don't think you can add more than one feat per level and even with level 20 mods some may still not want to give up their feats :P (I am such a greedy person)

That is true :). I dont think there is a mod that lets you pick as many as you like in terms of feats.
I wish there was a mod that lets one take as much feats as you like. Would just be so nice and let everyone go ham.

Best method i can think of is more feats and me making a combination of several passives into one feat as an option.
Say one feat gives  Brute and muscular and Avatar of Bane passives.
Then it still only costs one feat for the player. While it gives 3 passives.
That is one way of doing it, not optimal ofcourse.

Choose Your Stats can grant you the passive effects of feats without granting the feats themselves. It does this with several modded feats too like those from Essential Feats and Feats Extra :) just a matter of casting whatever chosen spell from the hotbar after drinking the potion and activating the passive.

The thing is I'm not sure it just automatically picks up on added feats as I believe I have many that I can't grant with it. The author would likely need to add those passives in separate from the feats unless they can make it so that the passives are inherited from the feats automatically.
