Greetings! First of all, thank you for such an awesome mod. I always felt this weapon needed a boost.

I do have a question, how did you created the Arcane Finesse passive? I really like the idea of this passive and I wanted to use it in something, either as a buff spell or another item for Eldritch Knight types but I couldn't find the option on the toolkit to add either str, dex or the spell casting stat to a weapon whichever is higher.

I could only find passives that supersede whatever stat the weapon uses for the spellcasting stat.

So I've been playing with this a bit and I've enjoyed it! Idk if you're looking for feedback, but a couple things here:

The sorcerer summon is INSANELY strong, to the point where I'd really considering tuning her down. She adds both her own CHA modifier and the summoner's to her attack rolls meaning she essentially never misses, and being able to summon what is effectively a 5th party member to deal a ton of damage and cast counterspell/hold monster is so much stronger than every other summon in the game that it feels like cheating. You could easily make this only the warrior version, or just revert it to the regular cambion, and the weapon would still be very good and very fun.

I might also consider toning down the damage in some way. Personally I'd make it deal an extra d4 fire instead of a d6, make searing blade into a d4 instead of CHA bonus, and do what another commenter said and limit the bonus action attack to once per battle or even short rest. As it is, this weapon is much better than the Duelist's Prerogative just on stats alone, and the summon ability pushes it over the top of basically every other one handed weapon in the game which IMO is just kinda lame. You've got some really neat ideas going with this one, I'd just love a version that's toned down a little to make it feel fair.

      I do enjoy feedback!
The sorcerer summon is INSANELY strong
I did have second thoughts about the sorcerer version being too strong when writing her in. I'm currently working on an update for the mod that will include damage reduction for her.
Personally I'd make it deal an extra d4 fire instead of a d6
The main reason I kept it D6 is because all the infernal-based damage in the game uses D6 rolls (I'm guessing because of the funny number).
limit the bonus action attack to once per battle or even short rest
I don't want to deviate too much from Duelist's Prerogative since its bonus attack (and Belm's) can be used once per turn. I also don't want to upset players that already enjoy this feature. The nerfs to the summons in the next update will make the weapon feel more balanced. Also...
I'd just love a version that's toned down a little to make it feel fair
This is in the works! I'll even call it "Toned Down Version" (or "Cooled Down Version" 'cause fire).

That's awesome to hear! I appreciate it, you've given a lot of love to a really cool item that I think just gets discarded too quickly. Looking forward to it.

Hi! I want to suggest one other potential fix for the sorcerer, simply reduce its known spells to those themed around fire i.e. fireball, firewall, flamestrike, etc. This will keep the fire theme and be less fight deciding in late game. Simply reducing the damage does not account for other overpowered use for her, e.g. just keeping her around for one free counterspell per round.
If further toning down is required, you can reduce the spell lots, which directly correspond with the amount of AoE per long rest.

What are the chances of getting a version without the cambion summons?  Or maybe a fire elemental / Myrmidon instead?

Thank you so much for buffing such a cool looking (but meh stat wise) weapon, and for showing Wyll some much needed appreciation with that feature! XD He's been turning enemies into roasted kebab left and right in my run

I'm liking it but I do feel that some more optional nerfs would be nice. Besides what the other guy said about the sorcerer, I also feel like everyone getting advantage on the enemy Wyll hit is a little too good (Burning: Hellfire debuff). Maybe it could be removed or changed in some way so only Wyll is getting the advantage?

Thanks mods works great and needs IMO to stay a Wyll themed item.   Kudosed, Endorsed and Voted for.

I do have a request though =) can you keep the upgrades to the sword but have a version/option for those of us who would rather have the basic single male cambion summon?  The other version you have kept on here summons the female variant.  Also, keeping the male variant makes the mod a bit more stable when/if you need to unload it, a game update makes the mod obsolete or you are just done updating (and the mod goes obsolete).

I will certainly look into adding a regular cambion version. I don't think the game will have too many updates going forward, but I understand the desire for stability. The two cambion models I used are existing models. I'm not nearly talented enough with creating models from scratch :D.

Cool upgrade, but I think it would make more sense if you changed extra bonus from "Wyll" to "Warlock".
After all, this is a weapon that patrons give to their warlocks and not to their Wylls.

I think I will end up setting it to Warlocks in the next release instead of Wyll like you suggested.

This is entirely incorrect. The Infernal Rapier is a potential reward for progressing through Wyll's companion quest. Wyll is known as The Blade of Frontiers which grants him rapier proficiency - with this weapon specifically in mind. Its description clearly states that it is not just Wyll's rapier but a manifestation of his very essence.
Imagine the soul as a blade. A good one, carefully looked after. A bad one suited for rusting in the rain. Flame-chewed and narrow, this blade is Wyll's soul summarised in steel.
It has NOTHING to do with Warlocks in general, but of course it would fit any The Fiend Warlock thematically.

I'll vote on wyll's camp then. it will give origin companion something unique about them. like how khalid's gift full power only work when jaheira wear it. and yeah, since it's wyll's soul he deserve to have it a tad bit stronger than when Tav steal it.

Bonus should remain tied to Wyll. It was gifted to him not anyone else after all.

Agreed. Similar to how some of the Githyanki armor has bonuses or abilities only granted to gith wearers.

Lae'zel's silver sword is also not exclusive to Lae'zel.
It is equally accessible to all Githyanki.

"Infernal Rapier" is a fairly ordinary weapon.
That is, when we're talking about weapons that can be obtained in hell.
I think in Hell you could just as easily get an Infernal Sword, dagger, axe, hammer, etc.
Although this is a slightly rarer type of +2 weapon, really good weapons, named artifacts, usually start at +3.

This particular rapier may have a custom made design, but there's nothing to suggest that Wyll should be given any extra power because he's Wyll. But let's say the rapier was actually somehow connected to his contract and through it provided Wyll with extra power.
Are you aware that most people will terminate the contract? That should mean losing that extra power...

If you want to be pedantic, due to its infernal nature, the rapier should ONLY provide an extra bonus to "The Fiend" Warlock.
It only makes sense that an infernal warlock should be able to better harness the power of infernal weapons.

But my suggestion was all warlocks, because the new patch will bring a new subclass "Hexblade warlock" and this would be a pretty suitable weapon for that class.

Would also like to see at least a version of this mod that allows non-Wyll characters to use the weapon to its fullest. As far as I'm aware, there isn't any other weapon in the entire game that only fully functions when wielded by a single particular character, and if we wanted to use the "It was gifted to Wyll" excuse then that should be the case for the base version as well. It's a sword that does a thing and was handed to Wyll as a reward, what he does with it or who he gives it to after that doesn't matter IMO.

What if there would be a mod version that has the weapon tag for only Wyll, then another one that excludes the Wyll tag and gives the bonus to any Warlock class? Hells, even a plain bonus to anyone.

This gives people that want Origin Wyll to have an exclusive one that they can work on, while also giving other people the benefits and bonuses without progressing through his quest.

I think the main problem is that Origin exclusive gear don't exist in the game.
There are class and race exclusive things, but not origins.

A little late to the party but why not just have 2 seperate files one for only wyll and one for warlock in general and let people decide what they want? isn't that the point to modding ultimately?

This is on the way (along with a version that allows anyone to use it). I didn't think making an exclusive feature would be this divisive -- that's on me. The more I engage with the community, the more I learn though.

There will be optional files in the next update that remove the Forever Dauntless exclusivity. One for just Warlocks and one for anyone.

I love this mod. I've always said that the lore weapon for Wyll is quite weak. So thank you for this!

BUT I do have a suggestion to make the weapon feel really strong but not broken. Just make infernal strike per battle instead of per turn. Because it deals additional damage that is quite high from a bonus action. That is kinda huge. So just a small optional ver where it is per battle instead of per turn would be really cool imo. :D

Thanks for the feedback! I'm currently working on a few different versions of this mod. One of those is a slightly more restricted version. I do like your idea of setting the cooldown to per battle; however, Duelist's Prerogative and Belm will overshadow it if I set that. In the more restricted version, I'm adding a 'Per Target' limitation. For example, you'll only be able to use Infernal Strike once against Ansur, but you can use it again against either of the elementals that spawn in that fight. The target restriction gets removed when combat ends (in case you flee or the involved party members die) or when the target dies.
