The icons and tooltips are assets from the game, but I made them available as icons and tooltips. I also 'made' some of them by combining two assets together, specifically the icons and tooltips used for the Remove Boost spells.
The custom spells function as shout spells. They're set to auto-cast (no need to confirm), and they don't have animations.
Kiam Goda's Kilat Drum has wonky animation and doesn't have the digital deluxe songs available. This is a base game issue.
Any chance you'll update the simple version that adds only musical instruments proficiency? (So that only bard can sing but the rest can use instruments)
Does this work with patch 7? I love this mod and don't want to lose it if I update. I'm hoping I can stick with Nexus and not bother with the in-game mods at all.
Hey! I know this is very late in the history of this mod, but is there a way to give yourself permanent proficiency even when not holding an instrument in your inventory through the mod?
Act 1 spoiler: To be honnest, I kinda skipped Alfira into a very specific run and now into act 3 I have done too much to go back and restart and the lack of profficiency bothers me so much...
hi! does this work with the special edition lute?. Also, since you seem to have an interest in this mechanic, I thought it would be neat to be able to whistle while moving, while traveling! I wonder how possible that is, just sharing the idea
Honestly, it completely slipped my mind that those three songs were exclusive. I'm going to have to update the mod to address that, so thank you for the heads up.
As for your request, that's way beyond my basic knowledge, unfortunately. I'm sure a more experienced modder may know how to pull it off :)
Edit: I think people will need the deluxe edition to see the DoS songs. I was testing things offline and noticed I didn't have the DoS songs available to me and they didn't show up until I opened the game through Steam, so it's probably granting the DoS songs to people without the deluxe edition.
hey another Q, on an existing save where my party had a bunch on instruments, bought before the act 3 and looted, they all gave proficiency. the mod states it's only starting instruments, which I'm guessing are just the ones you get by starting/multiclassing a bard. So idk if intended or what. Maybe because I already had them, it counted? I haven't tried starting a new save and checking the first instrument I find, I'll let you know I guess. I honestly don't mind it this way though.
Heya, i love this mod and it worked fine until now. I don't know what happened, it worked fine before even after the 4th patch of the game. I just installed some CC mods which shouldn't conflict with this one (Tattoo and piercing edits, new hairstyles, skin tones, eye colours). I put it last in the load order, still nothing.
Then i saw that the basket full of equipment mod added a new instrument (a violin) that doesnt need proficiency to be played. Could that be the culprit?
Edit: Nevermind, it was just this instrument that came with the basket mod lol. works as intended
Just wanted to ask if I've done something wrong. My partner and I installed the mod through vortex for a current play through. after installing it, the basic instruments we already had in a chest didn't grant proficiency. Is there a specific spot in the load order it should be? or are there specific "starter" instruments we need to use. or does the mod not work through vortex? just to clarify, we do have BG3 mod fixer installed.
If you have another mod that edits instruments, then there will be a mod conflict. As for which specific instruments this mod works on, I can only say for sure that it's the ones shown in the screenshots. GhostyFag did confirm that it works with Lute of the Merryweather Bard, though, so maybe it may affect other instruments.
You could try loading this further down the load order to see if it works.
To be clear, are you equipping the instruments and musical proficiency on your character sheet is still grayed out? Because you don't actually see on the tooltip that an instrument grants musical proficiency. You'll have to equip it and then check.
I'll go give your suggestions a test and let you know. And as for testing it, we've been equipping the instrument and then attempting to use the performance ability, which still results in "poor performance".
Regardless, thanks for a quick response! I'll get that testing done and let you know.
I think performance may be linked to charisma, so even with the proficiency, you may still fail the check. If your character sheet says you have musical proficiency when you equip an instrument, then that means the mod is working.
I won’t be able to reply as quickly next time, but please keep me updated :)
So I'm not entirely certain what the difference is, but to speed up the process I got the tutorial chest mod and used one of the instruments from your stock mod. That one worked, so I can't really say what happened?
Heyo! I'm not sure if you meant for the Lute of the Merryweather Bard to work with this mod, but if you have the DLC it seems to work! I accidentally missed out on my music lessons this run and I didn't wanna go back, so this mod was a total lifesaver!
I did edit the base instruments, but I remember that didn't work before. Not sure what changed, or if just happens to work with Lute of the Merryweather Bard, but it's good to know it worked! I'm glad the mod helped you :)
Thank you for info on Lute of the Merryweather Bard and sharing your screenshots in the images section <3
