Hey all, just wanted to drop in and let people know what's going on with this mod. I made this originally for a friend who was playing Monk during a co-op run of the game. Since making it, we've all drifted from the game, and I never really planned for this to be a long-term or even a stable mod.
I won't be updating or adding to the mod as I never intended to really get into mod creation in the first place. Anyone with the inclination can tweak the files and re-host the mod.
Excellent idea to make a nice staff for a monk but I have a suggestion. Could you maybe do an optional file with a different visual model for the staff? I mean, it looks very good but it looks like a mage staff. A monk needs a sturdy staff to fight. For example, even basic staff looks very nice for a monk. You could do maybe some edits to a basic model, find some inspiration using google to find some sturdy quarterstaff pics or something like this - https://xilrin.wdfiles.com/local--files/monk/16a6b6668472d57f34ca1c2ae6039aa2.jpg
Also, to be effective in combat, a staff needs to be balanced on both sides (like a basic model is). You could maybe add some magic runes to it or something but it dont need to be flashy. Monks usually wear simple clothing and a weapon :D And a model could be similiar with size to a basic model (or a little bit longer) because bigger staffs are just unwieldy. Some weapons and staffs are oversized in this game :)
I would be happy even for a reskin of a basic staff like making the wood brighter, and more polished and change of the metal parts for more silvery material. My monk would really appreciate something like this :D

I second this. I install all of my mods manually rather than relying on a mod manager, and to do so I need information in the info.jsom file that most mods include in the ZIP file. Some mods with instead include the required information -- the mod's UUID (not the item's UUID) and the "Name" and "Folder" values. Without this information, none of us who install mods manually can use your mod.
Haven't seen any feedback in regards to unique flag, legendary version or the visual bugs with the staff (characters act as if they aren't holding the staff even with it in their hands). Has the mod been abandoned?
Seems to be a bit of a visual bug with this. Not sitting right in the hand/clipping through things like the game doesn't know its there. Tried transmogging it to look different, didn't help.
Did you tag this as unique or something that causes it it to only spawn once? It's not in my tutorial chest anymore when I summon it. I can't find it in the tutorial chest at all mid campaign.
It does seem to be tagged as a unique weapon. I think if you just unpack, remove that tag from its stats, and repack you can install a version that will let you spawn/buy as many as you want. That way you don't have the situation of it spawning once and then being gone forever.
Update: Yes, removing the unique tag will make it exist in multiple copies, so that way you don't lose your chance at getting it. It'll show up in the spawned chest as many times as needed, and probably purchasable from vendors that carry it multiple times.
There is a hilarious result of trying to dual wield two of them, as it makes them not show on the character's back when ideal, and then just magically spawn into their hand when striking. The animations for such are also for a single staff, and not one in each hand. Its perfect for my monk, since I always use unarmed strikes and just wield the staff for the passive bonuses.
That said, two of these is certainly overpowered in the same character, and would likely need all the passives halved in order for carrying two to be viable. Better to just use a mod/setting to make the weapons on your back invisible rather than using the weird bug/feature of this staff in duplicate making it invisible.
Wish I knew how to do what you said. Last time I tried modifying tactician plus hp to 400% by opening the .pak in notepad, Modmanger had a fit. So I leave it to those who know what they're doing. Thank you for the info though.
