Awesome! One question, and a minor request, perhaps.. Would it be hard to change the generic star icon for the resource? Maybe to something that symbolizes the essence of blood better? π
It's possible, yes, but not worth the effort. Modding resource icons is very cumbersome, and to avoid breaking other mods it requires making a lot of changes to ImprovedUI.
I've done that for a couple of other mods where the resource is more important, but here you don't need to see a resource count since it's always 1 or 0, and you can tell which both from the buff and from which skills are available.
Though it's not stated explicitly, the text clearly refers to the boon in the singular. You can have one boon. Sacrificing again while you already have one will refresh the duration.
im a bit confused, is this feat a one time use that only lasts for 10 minuites/long reast and thats it, its used up or is it a permanent feat like others?
Thank you for this mod! It would also be really cool if you could separate the two feat versions into different files to download instead of having both in one. If not, I understand but please do consider it
Great mod and definitely love the theme for my character, but I have run into a bit of a bug so far. Not sure if it's this mod or caused by another I have, but it seems like sometimes when I use Vital Sacrifice, none of the reaction options become active. Not sure why, but it seems like after I use the feat once and get the options, subsequent uses do not trigger the reactions to become available, thus only leaving me with the Quicken option.
To clarify, when you say the reactions don't become available, do you mean that the reactions don't appear in the list at all, or that the reactions are listed but not available for use? (As in darkened/greyed out, I can't remember exactly what that looks like.)
Oh, and next time it happens, please try save+load and see if they become available then.
So to give further clarification, the first time I use Vital Sacrifice after taking the feat, the reactions show up as available and work as normal. However, every subsequent use of the feat leads to none of the reactions appearing (they do not show up at all in the reaction options). They do sort of trigger, but none of the text shows up and it's just blank.
Gonna experiment a bit, and I'll reply back again shortly with my findings
Edit: So, it seems like for whatever reason, that after I use some other ability (such as the Wizard's arcane recovery) the reactions show up again. However I have to keep doing this to cause the reactions to show up properly. Not sure if this is caused by another mod I have (likely is), but I couldn't begin to tell you which one unfortunately.
Edit Edit: I did save/reload and that did cause the reactions to show up again. Still, this is a very strange bug since the feat works perfectly fine the first time I use it, but then each additional time after it causes this issue. The reactions still work, but the actual text is gone so the reaction prompts are completely blank and I have to infer what reaction I'm triggering based on context. So the feat still more-or-less works, but strangely the reaction toggles are unavailable to me after the first use of the feat, or until I save/reload or perform some other ability such as Arcane Recovery.
I can't reproduce it, but the reactions UI is quite bugged in multiple ways unfortunately, which is why I knew to suggest the save+load test.
For reference, I'm using ImprovedUI and Better Hotbar 2, but have seen similar problems with the reactions UI not updating both with and without those mods, so I don't expect them to be related.
Thanks for the prompt replies. Yeah, seems like it still works, the reactions just don't show up most of the time, so I pretty much have to determine which reactions I want active the first time and then just remember which does what.
Overall, the bug seems more just annoying than actually broken, so I pretty much just have to live with it for the time being.
I actually just had an even worse version happen, where the reactions didn't show up even on first use in the session (don't know what triggered it, and Wild Shape made them appear.)
Grr... guess I'll hunt for a workaround tomorrow.
(A simple fix would be to just always have them listed, but I like when they only appear contextually, so will try to preserve that.)

I literally canβt play without this mod

Cheers!
(The Patch 7 version of ImprovedUI made it possible to add resource icons without editing that mod.)

Thanks !

Thanks for looking into it
