Is there anyway to get spellsword to work with modded smites? Im using the blackguard mod and ive realized it doesnt recognize its profane smite as a smite. The cantrip boost still works fine fortunately.
on the four lines where it also says "... or IsDivineSmite())", so it says something like: "... or IsDivineSmite() or IsProfaneSmite())", if there is a check like that included with the mod.
If you have to original sword taken from the stone and the combination doesn't work, try to unequip it before combining with the music box. It worked for me.
Does this mod still work with the current version of the game? I've seen patch 7 kinda messed with how mods used to work, so I'm a bit iffy about using non-updated mods for new runs.
Ok, I've tested it myself by spawning the weapon through Cheat Engine right at the start of the game, and upgrading it using the add-on to spawn the music boxes in the tutorial chest provided here in the download section. Happy to report that, on Patch 7 Hotfix 28 (ver 4.1.1.6072089), everything seems to be working fine. I've been able to fully upgrade it to very rare and legendary version and everything was in order.
For future reference, since the game won't likely go through any other major change in how it handles mods, it'll probably work fine even on Patch 8 and beyond. Also, ever since Patch 7 you DO NOT need the Mod Fixer listed in the requirements anymore.
No problem, can't expect the mod author to be here replying to comments every day, specially when they aren't actively working on it anymore. Yeah, I've seen it being mentioned in other posts below, but answers didn't look definitive enough for me to trust not having any unpleasant surprise once I'm maybe too deep into the game to do anything about it anymore. I just thought reporting it here might be useful for future users with my same kind of doubts. Great mod btw, probably my favorite BG3 item mod. Thank you for making it.
According to MCM this has no UUID associated with it which in turn disables MCM on start up of game. Would love if that could get fixed as this is one of my favorite modes. Love Phalar Aluve and this just makes it more immersive and fun to use.

also, yours is better now that I'm noticing the difference between them. i know you're not making new versions right now. but yours would be the superior version to choose from. so when you have time, id be greatful for a short sword version.
You might have better luck asking the other author to provide such edits, because it's gonna be a while before I have time to make a more deep dive into the official modding tools, since it's not as straight forward as I was hoping.

Then, you'd need to add whatever the Blackguard's smite is called in the Blackguard mod, into the:
...PhalarAluveLegendary\Public\PhalarAluveLegendary\Stats\Generated\Data\Passive.txt

It seems that smite enhancement bonuses doesn’t apply to smite triggered as a reaction.
