Hmm. While this certainly looks nice, I actually prefer flight to be available only to those who are able to cast the spell whether prepped or due to item, or has it due to class feature i.e. draconic bloodline sorceror, thus retaining each character's unique abilities.
What I am miffed about is the same flight distance when compared to jump distance which is dependent/determined on STR stat. Is it possible for you to make a mod that just increases flight (be it from the spell, item or feature) distance, perhaps 2x or 3x or maybe have it tied to stats i.e. INT (wiz) and CHA (sorc)?
i like this idea a lot more than other flying capes. but could the name of the buff and cape be changed? like uh... Ultimate Explorer's Cape, or something like that.
As for the the buff... idk Explorer's Breath Or Explorer's Ambition Explorer's Freedom? Hm. ...wait no, how about the classic and stupid! FOR SCIENCE!
The names could be changed, although I don't know how other players feel about that. I'd like to have different versions of the files and allow players to mix and match them, but then players would need to pack the mod themselves and I don't see how to avoid that.
Thank you for this! Any way you can replicate the actual Wings of Flying from 5e? "While wearing this cloak, you can use an action to speak its command word. This turns the cloak into a pair of bat wings or bird wings on your back for 1 hour or until you repeat the command word as an action. The wings give you a flying speed of 60 feet. When they disappear, you can't use them again for 1d12 hours." The "1d12 hours" can be replaced with a Long Rest, I guess...
You're welcome! That's a pretty cool suggestion, with this being my first mod I don't know how feasible that would be, I'd need to be able to use vanilla assets (maybe use the Deva wings as a cloak, if that's even a thing?).
I wasn't even thinking of the "cosmetics" of it! That would be excelent! As for the wing look, Devas or devils wings would do the bird/bat look, but I'm not sure that can be done...
There was already a mod for this that worked whenever, not only out of combat, and it gave flight up to 93ft. by alexmrbison. Sadly, they deleted all of their mods for some reason. If you are able to modify yours to work in battle as well, then I will give it a shot. Otherwise, I'll keep the (their now deleted) mod I am currently using, as I enjoy flying across the battlefield, and dropping nukes on my enemies
I haven't seen that mod, but if it's already doing what you want then I guess it's fine to keep it. But if you want an alternative that works in combat, a mod Fly For All was recently released by Aetherpoint who already made some pretty cool mods, so I'd recommend checking this out.
Amazing mod! Could you add a version without the VFX?
Some suggestions for optional files:
1 - No VFX 2 - Double distance 3 - No VFX and double distance 4 - In combat (just for fun. Imagine an archangel build, flying all over the battlefield...)

Any chance to remove vfx/sounds from the buff?
