A quick question. Does this display the casting stat properly in the spell book? I built a similar mod (it does other stuff as well) and while the saves are internally correct, the spellbook lists none for spellcasting stat and everything. I heard that was a known bug, but not sure if its still a bug, or if there's a solution to that.
It should be compatible with Rogue Learns from Scrolls, so long as you load that mod before this one. I'd know as that's how I got a mod I made to function with UnlockLevelCurve. Mine is loaded AFTER. And they both modify the same file.
Rogue Learn From Scrolls alters Rogue. This alters Arcane Trickster. Ergo, there should be no conflict.
I can't comment on whether they'll work with the other two mods he mentioned, but I know it should work with rogue learns from scrolls.
Sorry to necro, but do you know if this will work with Arcane Trickster - Adept, Arcane Trickster Enhanced, or Alternative Arcane Trickster? (Need to investigate them more to decide which I want to try.) I am very interested in an Arcane Trickster using Charisma rather than a Bard for a certain character I have in mind, but I'd love some of these other enhancements too
Ngl, why they don't in 5e and D&D in general is just beyond me. But seriously. There are enough bloody battlemage/roguemage type classes with int/dex already, this class is CLEARLY a charismatic rogue, it baffles the mind this isn't canon. Thanks for the mod dude! :D
Swashbuckler is meant to be the charismatic rogue. If you look at dnd , the Int users are Wizard, Artificier, Arcane triksters, Psi Warriors, Eldritch knight and Arcane archer (so 2 classes and 4 subclasses). Cha users are Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, Paladin, Swashbuckler (so 4 classes and 1 subclass). The game is already favoring Charisma over Intelligence. Also, magical rogue using charisma is a bard.
Bards are bards, they can dabble in any skill, but they are more fighters or mages than they are rogues. I agree, though, there ARE valid reasons, I know, cha is generally an arguably more useful stat in dnd outside of spells (though int has better saves) and there -are- some disgusting multiclasses you could pull off in earlier editions (probably in 5e too) with cha-based classes. And yes, I realize swashbuckler is a thing. All I'm saying tho is, the idea of a tricksy charismatic rogue type that instinctively picked up some minor spellcasting to bolster his dastardly ways is to me somehow more head-canon friendly than some dude that was a thief but somehow had a bunch of time to study magic, too. I mean, you can make a case for anything ofc, I just strongly dislike arcane tricksters as they are in dnd and have always found them to be a very gimmicky class that nevertheless can't be a party face either cause the stats are all tied up on dex and int (which is a great stat for power-casting and admittedly some saves, but wisdom and constitution are always better anyway, and cha saves are pretty good to have, too).
