hey the notification "you do not have the configurable version of this mod installed" keeps popping up despite the configurable version being installed, did I do something wrong?
UPDATE! Get 1.0.0.11! a minor issue with the file naming was causing the config app to not work correctly.
NEW FIX IS UP! Download 1.0.0.10. No need to update config app if you use it! Give it a shot if the mod is currently not working for you!
-New version notes and instructions: This new version has new config validation to prevent errors from incorrectly constructed config files. This shouldn't be a problem if you use the config app, but if you are manually configuring, this validation will help you spot issues with your config.
If a companion key is missing from the config, the mod will now fall back to the default config instead of erroring out. If you find that the mod is using the default config instead of your own, do one of the following:
1) Rerun config app and save it to the mod 2) If you are manually setting up your own config file, look to the script extender output for detailed logs on changes you need to make to the config.
Even if you don't do either of these things, the mod should now work no matter what.
Thank you to everyone who dropped some info in the comments.
Hey guys, some are saying the mod isn't working with patch 8, while others are able to use it. I dug into it tonight and noticed my game would crash when I tried loading a game with my mod installed. I reinstalled script extender (which has a new version for patch 8) and that fixed it for me. The companions were talking again in all my test saves. If you are able to load in, but nobody is talking, I would recommend a fresh install and ensuring you're on the latest version of the mod, which got a new version with fixes a few months back. Thanks for the kind words. Let me know if that fixes it for you guys.
Mine isn't working under patch 8. I have already downloaded the latest SE (version of 30Apr2024) and the latest version of this mod, however, the game crashed every time after I clicked on a new game and chose the game difficulty. When I removed the .dll from the bin folder (this mod was removed from the mods folder too), the game went back to normal with no crashes. No idea where I did something wrong.
i am seeing mixed signals in the comments. Can anyone let me know if this is currently working for them on patch 8? I had it installed previously - with the config app - and my game would crash repeatedly after walking around nautiloid. I ended up cleanly uninstalling BG3 and re-installing without this mod never being active and game runs with no crashes. so im kinda nervous to try again lol. PLSSS LMKKKKK
edit: also wondering if it is working for you - which version was downloaded? p.s. to the mod creator thank you for even making a mod like this for people like me who must hear all bits of dialogue!!
I uninstalled BG3 from Steam, deleted Larian Studios folder on the appdata folder and also deleted Baldur's Gate 3 folder on the Steam folder, restarted my PC, and then reinstalled it. I also reinstalled BG3MM, redownloaded this mod (along with other mods), then started a new save.
Basically a super fresh start.
I haven't tried the Config app yet but the mod itself works.
Unfortunately though I did the same myself, this mod is the only one that makes the game unable to start for whatever reason. While it was installed the game would not start a new game, and when I removed it, it did. Perhaps it's a combination of mods, but nonetheless can't use it for now.
Mod is no longer working as of Patch 8. Companions and Tav/Durge do not make any reactions to any items or area triggers. Patience is key for the fix :)
And so my watch continues. It won’t be a long wait for info like last time. This really hit me in my feelings. Huge respect to you and all you do, we don't deserve it.

It's great to hear this is working with Patch 8! I loved having this on, thank you for enriching my game with good content already made.
I'd like to suggest just mentioning that in the description of the mod much like the Better <UI> mods do since the last update is before patch, I know it makes me more confident to grab it than checking the posts.
For whoever is running the companion app on Linux and runs into the "BG3 profile path does not exist" error, launching it through Protontricks (or Winetricks) and pointing it to the BG3 Wine prefix solves the issue.
Halsin and Karlach keep spamming their interaction together about love, didn't mind it at first but i feel like i'm missing out on lot of interactions bc this one keeps playing instead
damn, i hoping for the extra dialogue when you select dialogue when chatting with other NPC, normally the game select 1 in your teammate randomly to react, i just want all of them saying it.

All I needed to know without downloading an app 😊
Also maybe put a few JSON presets in the optional files section for my fellow paranoid people.

Glad it fixed the issues for everyone else. And thanks for this mod, I can't play without it anymore.
