Why are so many of the mods out right now blatant cheats?
This literally invalidates the rogue, who is based around hide and dash being bonus actions for them. So many of these mods are obviously not made by people who know the actual tabletop game, and it's bizarre. Pathfinder: Kingmaker mods were usually bringing the game closer to tabletop, not further away from it.
We need more mods fixing issues like nat 1s and nat 20s instantly failing or succeeding skillchecks (which invalidates investing points in them)--not cheating and breaking DnD balance, and stepping on entire classes toes.
mod the way you want man, if you dont like it, you dont have to download it. its there game, its single player, who the hell cares what they do in there own game. its about having fun.
Why are you browsing a mod that obviously doesn't appeal to you? Scroll past it and move on with your life. The existence of this mod doesn't take up any space from the mods you wish to see exist and neither does it reduce the possibility of them existing either. This mod, and many other mod authors, won't magically start making the mods you wish to see even if mods like this were prohibited from being uploaded on this website. Mod authors make the mods THEY want to make. Not the ones YOU want to see. You're lucky mod authors are even kind enough to share their work with us. The mods they make for themselves they could very easily not upload and really, with comments like yours what would motivate them to? Just to get chewed out by some selfish person because you didn't make a mod that appeals to you.
Go make those mods yourself if you want them so badly. And learn some manners while you're at it.
Because, if a Rouge is spotted AT ALL, never mind if the person spotting them even targets them, the Rouge is forced out of hiding, and has to take yet ANOTHER turn to return to hiding.
Better question is why are so many of you yelling at it being a bonus action, and we're here going, um, yeah, yes we want it to be a bonus action. What are we fighting about again?
It's not currently labeled as a bonus action ingame. Instead, if you hide, you lose your attack. Which wouldn't be a problem at all if it wasn't for the enemy fighter charging at the Cleric, but because their cone of sight included the Rouge, the Rouge is now forced to roll and if they fall, they're forced to stand up and reveal themselves to EVERYONE, instead of only losing the hiding advantage against that single fighter.
simple, so people can play the game how they'd like to play it. they may be adding mods to make other aspects harder, or just want a chill or OP playthrough. Either way it doesn't matter - it's our game to mod as we want to, different things work for different people. I respect that you want to play close to the table top version -good for you. Respect others choose to play differently. There is no 'correct' way - its about having fun role-playing in a way that's enjoyable.
It's a single player game, people paid their money, you don't like it you can stop browsing, not like the Inquisition where people are forced to listen to you by what is supposedly right and reasonable.

This problem was known back in the 2nd edition days, and the DMs manual itself warned about what happens when players do this - they turn into tyrant children, and the fun and sense of reward goes out the window. Except on a PC game, there are no DMs to moderate this risk. Its gross, and though I agree completely with what you're saying, these people can't be helped. Like heroin addicts, they make themselves feel momentarily less miserable by treating themselves to things that will make them more miserable in the long term.
THis is a pc game, ok it based on D&D but none of the pc games based on D&D are accurate with the original tabletop D&D, and then you got the 5e rules, those were never the rules as used to be, they pansy wizards of the coast rules, a company who ruined D&D in all its way. Up to 4e rules D&D and AD&D was fun. But now most rpg games are pc games, not every pc gamer played the old tabletop games and they will want their game the way they see it, people love to be an overpowered godlike character that saves the day.
Nobody loves the cruelty the tabletop and pen & paper games offered, how many characters i made there and never gotten past level 4 because some DM was insanly cruel sending strong killing mobs on them, these days people get frustrated if they have to start over and over and over coze they die after the first few steps.
Because why does performing a sword attack, or using the energies of my body to cast a spell, take the same amount of time and energy as simply bending my knees and going sneaky mode. Opening a bottle and drinking an elixir is quicker and easier (only takes a bonus action) than popping a squat.
If this invalidates the rogue, than the rogue should have been better implemented
I unpacked this mod since a user reported it conflicting with one of my mods, and... well... it conflicts with just about anything!
For users - DO NOT INSTALL THIS MOD (as of version 1.0 anyway.) It will conflict with both other mods and game updates. It overwrites hundreds of spells.
For the author - remove everything except "Shout_Hide" from Spell_Shout.txt.
So, six weeks later, STILL at v1.0 and a giant *nada* from the ma? *sigh*
Maybe explains some UI/player control funkiness I've started running into? Ah, well, it was fun while the illusion lasted... ennui ensuing...
I spose now I may just have to overcome my inherent idiocy & learn how to pack & unpack things, and edit the .txt per your heads up and see if I can make it work for myself? I have low confidence...
But... it is a bonus action. A more immersive fix would be to multiclass 2 levels into rogue and then you can return to stealth every round of combat via in game mechanics.
I would like a version that swaps shove with hide and makes it so shove is an action & hide a bonus action. I feel like that should've been the correct approach as shove is so absurdly strong rn and basically free without a drawback for everyone that doesn't need to spend their bonus action while it is disgustingly strong against normal-sized creatures
I feel like shove is just a downgraded form of throw, because the enemy goes flying when you are successful. Maybe it should function more like: - If enemy is in combat and is aware, go from readiness to a off balance state if shoved, moves back a tiny distance. - If the enemy is in combat and is unaware (like from a hidden character), go from readiness to a prone state and a tiny distance. - If the enemy is off balanced, shoving will 'throw' them a further distance than if you do so out of stealth, and will go prone after landing for an additional turn.
Maybe even something interesting: - If you fail a shove, and the enemy is in a aware state to you, the enemy has a chance to shove you right back, which can throw you off balance. (And vice versa if multiple smaller enemies keeps attacking and shoving as their last action at you).
