Since there were a lot of questions about installation of this mod, here's a more detailed rundown:
1. Download chosen file MANUALLY, DO NOT USE ANY MANAGERS/DOWNLOADERS. 2. Put the file in the game's INSTALLATION FOLDER (e.g. for users with Steam, it will be something like steamapps/common/Baldur's Gate 3) 3. Right-click on file 4. Choose Extract here The file should now unpack and AUTOMATICALLY create all the necessary folder structure. It should look like this: [Baldur's Gate 3]/Data/Public/Shared/Stats/Generated/Data/XPData.txt [Baldur's Gate 3]/Data/Public/SharedDev/Stats/Generated/Data/XPData.txt
ATTENTION: This is the step many people have trouble with. You should check that the filepath is correct. If it is not correct, for some reason (you extracted into a different folder, or in some older versions of the file an extra folder with the mod name may be created on top), then adjust the folder structure manually.
If you want, you can unpack elsewhere and then copypaste to the installation folder to make sure the filepath is correct.
6. Now launch the game, disregarding the "warning message" in the Larian launcher (yes Larian, we know we're modifying the game's files, it's OUR game now and we do what we want, thankyouverymuch).
The changes should now be in effect.
When using the mod, please remember the following rules:
a) This mod allows reaching level 20 for MULTICLASS characters, none of the classes may be above 12, as class levels 13+ are not yet implemented; b) You should take the 12th level LAST, because otherwise the game will try raising your class level to 13 on next level up, which will crash the game (again, class levels 13+ are not implemented); c) Larian apparently did not implement the full multiclass spell slot progression, so even if you multiclass two casters to 20, you will still not get more slots than a 12th level caster. You will get the spells known for both classes as normal, but the slots will not be those of a 20th level caster (as they should), but of a 12th level caster. d) The same leveling rules apply to all companions, so follow the same protocol when leveling party members (no class above 12 etc.).
For those having an issue with vendors missing gold from inventories:
I have looked into the game files, and apparently trader inventories are indeed - for some stupid reason - tied to character level. This needless complication may cause issues, since in some cases the vendor tables cut off at level 12.
I have attempted to fix this and expand the tables to level 20, but haven't tested myself since I've not yet run into this issue.
Feel free to test it, the "vendor fix" is available for download in Optional Files and is installed in the same manner as the main mod. Report here with results.
EDIT: According to reports, the fix works, you need to take a long rest after installing it to reset vendor inventories. I have now included the fix in the mod files by default.
Yes, that is exactly how it worked. search for EndLevel "20" and replace it with your max level. also there are multiple lines that need to be replaced.
*** CORRECTION *** I was able to get this working. Not sure exactly how, but started over with a fresh installation, loaded Level 20 first, checked it worked, then loaded Fast XP, and now they're working fine.
I can confirm that this does not currently work with Patch 8. With just this mod and the Fast XP to Level 6 companion mod installed I get the "Failed to load main menu" error message and the game crashes.
"- Take the 12th level last, because otherwise the game will try to level your class to 13 on next level-up and crash. So like this: Fighter 11/Barbarian 8/Fighter 12;"
You can't let any class get to level 12 unless it's the very last level.
Does not seem to be working for me. I'm using the Level 20 (Double Rate) file and, with everything in Act 1 completed except for the Mountain Pass and creche, I'm at level 6. The two XPData.txt files are in the correct locations. Any idea what might be wrong? I do not have any other leveling related mods installed.
Hey, im actually just install the mod. Im using the normal rate, but somehow after my character levelling to level 14, it said maximum level reached. Any suggest?
I have been trying to figure out how to change the options so that I can instant level up but I can not seem to figure it out. What do I need to do in order to reach max level?
How do you recognize that the mod works early in the game? I've escaped nautiloid and woke up at the beach and gained my 1st level - I think this is normal even without the game..
Shouldn't I get my first level already on nautiloid if mod had worked as intended? Thanks
I tried following the instructions given to install the mod, but for some reason it hasn't worked. I checked the file path as well and it all lines up.

LMAO
I've tried deleting files, verifiying files and even uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

this number fits for double rate xp
key "MaximumXPCap","650000"
key "DialogInstanceFlagRange","10"
key "MaximumXPCap","650000"
key "DialogInstanceFlagRange","10"
In the file location, they specified but no luck.
