About this mod

Adds 4 different versions of a heavy repeating crossbow to the tutorial chest. Depending on rarity the crossbows feature an ammunition system, burst shots, full auto action and a grenade launcher.

Permissions and credits
Are you adapt with Martial weapons?
Do you hate not being able to hit thousands of targets at once like that wizard oddball with his magic missile?
Sick and tired of only being able to watch while pesky Sorcerers get the big kaboom fireballs?

If you answered those questions with yes, these weapons are for you. A new product line of heavy repeating crossbows with burst-shooting, full-auto and a grenade launcher.


Heavy Repeating Crossbow

These Items have actually been created more as a proof of concept for myself rather than release as a mod. But since playing around with them was quite fun, why not share.

They all feature an ammunition system and depending on their rarity have different features.

Ammunition System
The Heavy Repeating Cross Bow has a Magazine Size stated in the tool tip. This actually unlocks an action resource that will show up in the UI via Status-Boost indicators at your Character Profile Picture.

There are two Ammunition Types: Crossbow Bolts and Crossbow Grenades.

Actions (like Main Hand Ranged Attack, Two Shot Burst, Full Auto) all require Ammunition. Special Arrows can be shot as well and since you're providing the arrow/bolt as an item, these don't require additional Ammunition.

Two Shot Burst (per Turn)
Shoots two Bolts in one Action - each bolt can either target a different or the same target (targeting like arcane missile or eldritch blast).

Three Shot Burst (per Turn)
Shoots two Bolts in one Action - each bolt can either target a different or the same target (targeting like arcane missile or eldritch blast).

Full Auto (per Combat)
Shoots all Bolts left in the Magazine - each bolt can either target a different or the same target (targeting like arcane missile or eldritch blast).

Grenade Launcher (per Turn)
Shoot a Grenade (smoke powder arrow stats) at the targeted area.

Quick Grenade Reload (per Combat)
Reloads the Grenade Launcher in Combat as a Bonus Action.

Reload Crossbow
Reloads the Crossbow (Bolts and Grenades) and requires Action and Bonus Action.

Auto Reload after Combat / Short Rest
The Crossbow is automatically reloaded after combat ends or when you short rest.


Where to find?
At the moment only available in the Tutorial Chest - as mentioned above its more a proof of concept than anything.
I might add them throughout the game later by adding the base crossbow and upgrade items with which the weapon can be upgraded to its more rare versions.


Known Issues / Oddities
There is some odd (but expectedly so) behaviour with Full Auto as First Action and Extra Attack. Can't Shot (no more ammo), can't Reload (not an extra attack action) - decide for yourself it that's a bug or feature (since you can attack once and then use Full Auto as extra attack action I think of it as the latter).

When unequipping the Weapon it may take up to 6 seconds (or one turn) before the status boost that indicates the ammunitions realizes it should disappear. (still working on a better method for that)

The weapons are not exactly balanced - but who needs balance if you can have dakka-dakka-dakka and kaboom?


Compatibility
It should be compatible with other mods as it does not overwrite base game data / progressions / class data / etc.
