I have given clues already in previous conversations here as to where to look. If I were any more specific all sense of mystery would be lost and those who enjoy discovering things on their own would likely find the satisfaction of finding such an item diminished. I feel that would be unfair to them. After all, one cannot simply un-know something, once they've read it.
I have however provided the item's UUID in the description of this mod for anyone who wishes to simply grant themselves this armor via the script extender's console or a mod like Spawn Any Item.
This armor can also be bought from the vendor inside The Guild's headquarters in Baldur's Gate. As its stats are very-much of "end-game" value, this seemed like an appropriate place for it to make an 'easy-to-acquire' appearance.
I've read each comment. I personally can't use the spawn mod for some reason maybe because I'm not using a traditional PC/Mac (I'm using a Legion go). I've tried very much to get it to work but no luck.
I'm fairly new to the game and really like this armor and want to try it early on in the game. I've never gotten past Act1 but i really like your mod and want to try it and use it.
Perhaps just making a separate file to make it available on the nautiload makes sense?
I was not aware that there were such pants used by any leather armor. Virtual textures in PhotoShop and Blender don't appear like they do in-game. It's possible I just missed these button-up pants you mentioned. I'll look, but no guarantees!
I am wracking my brain for what stones I haven't overturned and do have suggestion (If I didn't miss it there) of putting it somewhere in the Zhentarim hideout or if possible as a reward for the Iron Flask crate being unopened. The Hideout was the place that made sense in my head lore wise (although it isn't late act 1 persay) and I swear checked every box in Zhentarim, the Creche, and Grymforge. I haven't combed the underdark 100%, but if it's in an entirely off the wall spot, idek where to begin looking. If I missed a single backpack in one of those places (you don't need to tell me which) tell me to double back.
The Underdark would certainly be a good place to turn over a few stones.
As for the Zhentarim, they are the rivals of the Guild. As well, they are primarily smugglers.
The Harpers, on the other hand, have more in common with the Guild than they'd care to admit and get up-to just as much (if not more) clandestine what-have-you. They might have a use for just such an item! And, just in case it's not totally obvious, that is a clue. ;)
hi, since you said by request...I have recently found out about a pretty rare hide armor called Sharpened Snare Cuirass, which has a unique model (same but with more detail) that looks way better than the rather standard hide armors. would it be easy to replace the standard hide armor model with that one, so all of them have it?
Assuming all the armor already exists in the base-game for all races, genders & body-types, yes. It can probably be done as a model-swap.
Though, how involved it can be does depend on if the two armors are coded to use the same number of Object entries per "slot". For example, Leather Armor +1 "body" calls on the pants and kneepads as separate Objects (as well as several others). So that's two Object entries for the "pants" area of the body.
Whereas Leather Armor +2 doesn't have kneepads in the base-game, so only has one Object entry for the "pants" area.
In the latter case, if you wanted to add kneepads as a model-swap (rather than altering a coded entry), you could just import both the pants and kneepads into Blender and combined them; being sure to also adjust the UV Maps accordingly. If two models would normally draw upon different textures, one of the UV Maps will need to altered to fit somewhere on the other models texture. This is sometimes just not feasible or can get reeeally tedious. Especially if you're doing it for all races, genders & body-types. Just to clarify: BG3 only allows for one texture per Object.
Are you requesting this, or were you thinking about tackling the mod yourself? Either way, I can take a look at it and give you an idea for how involved the process would be.
[UPDATE]
The Sharpened Snare Cuirass utilizes the following models:
What gave you that idea? Pretty sure I mentioned on the Description page that it's for sale in Act 3, or findable earlier than that (yes, in Act 1). There's also a UUID provided that people can use with the Spawn Any Item mod. By one of these means, you certainly can get it.
I double-checked the UUID I provided in the description. It is correct. Are you using Spawn Any Item? I have noticed myself that the items sometimes don't appear if the ground is too uneven or there isn't enough space for the ground-version of the item's model to fit.
You can buy the armor from the blond kid in The Guild in Act 3 or find it in Act 1. Having confirmed for myself that all thee ways of acquiring the armor work, I don't know how to help you or why it would not be spawning. Others seem to have had no difficulty getting it.
I've never tried to give myself an item using SE Console commands, so I don't know how to advise you, if that's the method you're using.
[rant] I really hate the art-style that Elven/Drow clothing and armor adheres too in modern D&D. As its needlessly complex 'layered-leaves' look goes so far as to become a serious detriment to the wearer. Can you imagine trying to sneak around wearing that? You'd get hung-up on every-other twig you moved passed. I can't imagine a race famed for their wisdom putting vanity above practicality. [/rant]
But that's no reason to dismiss your suggestion outright. Especially with regard to an armor that looks appropriate on a ranger.
That looks like Drow body, probably Drow sleeves (but maybe leather +0), leather +1 shoulders, and leather +1 pants. The gloves and boots are separate, of course. How important is it that it include the Drow body..? I'm Lothe (puns!!!) to include any of this game's Drow armor in any mod I make. And I'm sure there's a bodice-type body that could serve a similar purpose.
I originally saw this armour and thought of a Half-drow Ranger, something that can fit both in the Underdark and topside, a Mongrel set of armour for a ranger with a foot in both worlds. I personally like the chest piece of the drow set, I don't really like any other part of the drow set (Never understood the butt and hip leaves) however I know you *Llothe* the drow armour in its entirety.
If you can find a suitable replacement that could work with what I am going for, I'm sure there is something out there.
After I've made an honest effort to restore scale mail's knee-protection, I'll see about making Rion's armor available to users, as shown in the picture. I can look past my repulsion of Elf/Drow fashion-sense.
Oisinmal, did you want the armor you requested to have a scarf or not / knee-protection or not? Mod is basically done. Just wondering on these small details.
Also, would I be correct in assume you wanted this armor to be light or medium? I don't know 5th Ed nor have I played a Ranger yet in BG3, so I'd just be guessing at what sort of stats the armor should have. Input is welcome.
Also-also, I assume you use Transmog Enhanced, so that you can swap appearances on various armors? I ask because then you can just use any of the myriad gloves and boots in the game that would look fine with armor such as this.

The Sharpened Snare Cuirass utilizes the following models:
%RACE%_%GENDER%TYPE%_ARM_Hide_A_2_Body.GR2
%RACE%_%GENDER%TYPE%_ARM_Druid_B_2_Pants.GR2
And yes, both Models/Objects do exist for each race, gender & body-type.
Which hide armor, specifically, were you thinking to replace? IE: +0, +1, +2, etc.

Would you perhaps consider adding Rions armour from the game for a Ranger-esque character?
