Really love the Orpheus Tattoo. Thank you for taking the time to making this mod! But I also have a question. In your screencaps the Tattoos look really crisp but when I add them they are partially pixelated at the seams. Don't know how the describe it better. I will attach a screencap at the end. My settings are at max and the body tattoos don't have that problem. Maybe someone has an idea what's happening here?
Thanks! This specific screencap was made in the character creator with an unmodded head. But it looks the same for me in game. Depending on the game lighting sometimes it's not as visible. Played around with my graphics settings but that did not really make a difference.
Hm, it's weird because I've just tried it in-game myself and it looks fine (picture below). I'm going to ask around and talk to other modders and see if I can figure out the cause. Thanks for telling me, and apologies for this! EDIT: Just so I know, did you modify the original image in any way, shape or form? And what exact head are you using it on?
No worries! Maybe it's a problem at my end? I'm not really sure. Is it a resolution thing? I'm running the game at 1080p. But if I hotsample for screencaps it runs in 4k and looks the same.
I'm running the game with similar settings and I haven't had an issue. Are you getting this problem on all heads or just in the one you sent? And do you have any mods that change/upscale any of the textures? While it's not the same, I had an issue with hair textures a while ago that got fixed by me resetting the graphic settings to default, maybe try that.
So weird. It definitely does not look as crisp in my game. As far as I remember I have not installed any mods that change my textures. Resetting my video settings does not help either. It happens with every head but not all tattoos are as pixelated for me. Some look as sharp as they should.
EDIT: Sorry, saw your edit too late. No, that was a straight up screenshot from my game. Just cropped the tattoo part when I took the shot. I took the screenshot in the character creator but had the same result in game. Depending on the lighting it sometimes seemed less pixelated. The head in the screenshot ist the same head you used in yours. The default high elf version. But had the same result with all heads. The orpheus and rhol tattoos look like that for me but the rest look totally fine and exactly like the screenshots you provided. That is what puzzles me and I hoped maybe someone had this problem before and would have an explanation.
Having a similar issue with Isobel's tattoo, on default and modded heads (ran through all of them to check). The only mod I have that might effect the tattoos is the vivid tattoo color mod from Astralities
hi! i have a question - i remember that there used to be a bug with one of the dwarven face presets that let you use the NPC-only tattoos instead of the usual ones, and it includes this one that i think goes unused completely. would it be possible to make that one available as well?
Hey, this might be a bit of a dumb question, but how did you get the tattoos for the npcs from the game files? I'm just starting to make mods and don't understand anything at all yet
Hey! Basically, I unpacked the Textures.pak file that you get with the game itself with Lslib, and then, extracted it from there, since said file contains all of the textures used in-game. The NPC tattoos in particular were found in the texture file named Skin_Atlas_Head_UNI_Tattoo_A_MSK1, whereas the basic tattoos you can find in the character creator are named Skin_Atlas_Head_SHR_Tattoo_A_MSK1.
If you're interested on making custom tattoos, or just learning how they work, you might find this useful.
The compatibility with Unique Tav is already existing, even though u haven't programmed for it, u just need to drag the Tatto file into the Unique Tav Face File and it works.
Yeah, I'm eagerly awaiting the day someone finally cracks the code (no pun intended) on adding new tattoo presets to the game itself. I made a tutorial for editing tattoos; if you want, you can use it as a way to make your own custom tattoo atlas by mixing and matching from different tattoo mods (I'm fine with people modifying mine for personal use)
It's a neat idea, but I doubt I'll make it any time in the future unless I'm commissioned for it since I'm busy with work. If you want to try to make them yourselves, I made a tutorial for it.
