I'm not sure if I'll be using this, but I can't *not* praise such a cool mod! Not sure which idea for a veil is my favourite: the crown-of-thorns one or the chainmail one. Wouldn't mind seeing the crown-of-thorns one as a hair accessory without a veil, haha...
Glad you like them! It's actually possible to make each veil part invisible so you could potentially have just the thorns headband without the veil, through a very simple code swap. Let me know if you want me to teach you how to do it (although I'll need to know the race and body type of your character to pinpoint the file that needs to be changed).
I would love, love, loooove to use the flower headband sans veil. (For the non-buff tall femme half-elf.) I've been looking for flower crowns for months!
Just a warning, the headband will appear to be sticking out of the head pretty far and some of the flowers might look like they're floating a bit, because they were placed to fit with the flap veil. Here's how to have flower crown only, for all body type 1 (feminine standard) Humans, Elves, Half Elves, Drows, Tieflings and Githyanki:
1. Download the Unpacked mod version of Veils of Faerun, available in the Optional category of the Download tab.
2. Download BG3 Modder's Multitool, you will need it to pack the mod later. Just download the latest zip from the releases and extract the archive anywhere you want to keep it.
3. Extract the Unpacked mod archive.
4. Navigate to Veils of Faerun > Public > lyn_veils > Content > Assets > Characters > [PAK]_Veils and open the fileveil_full_T1_HUM.lsf.lsx with a text editor. A code editor like Notepad++ or Vscode is highly recommended for this, to have better visibility with colored text.
5. Do a search in the file: Ctrl+F on your keyboard and type in this: // Veil Wedding CLOTH - T1_HUM 6. Scroll down until you see the section called Material Assignments Here's a screenshot of how it looks:

This is where we will change the code.
7. Copy this ID: invismat-de36-40a0-ac0f-3caae9374ce0 and paste it in place of all the IDs in the nodes except the nodes called Veil.Flowers.4 and Veil.Headband.0 You should end up with something like in the following image:

This effectively replaces the flap, ribbons and long veil textures with invisible textures.
8. Save the file and close it.
9. Launch BG3 Modder's Multitool .exe.
10. Drag and drop the whole Veils of Faerun folder into the big blue square in BG3 Modder’s Multitool. Congrats, you’ve packed the mod! A zip file should have been created.
11. Drag and drop the newly created zip file into BG3 Mod Manager and install like any other mod. Don't forget to save the load order!
When you look in the Tail slot ingame and select the Wedding Cloth option, only the headband and flowers should be visible. Hope this helps!
Hello, Unfortunately as I already said in the mod description, I do not provide support for modified versions of Veils of Faerun beyond a simple color change. I've posted the tutorial above just as a bonus, but I do not intend on providing support for it. My only advice is to follow the steps carefully.
absolutely amazing mod! I was wondering if you could possibly share what some of the mods you used in the picture with the different veils and races. specifically the picture where there's an orange haired girl, silver haired girl and then a pale one with a halo. the last girl in that picture with the green hair, I'd love to know the names of the horns, head and tattoos. she looks absolutely perfect
Hi! I want to remove the black cloth from the Dragonborn veil that covers the mouth so it leaves the golden bits. I have the mod unpacked by the multitool but I'm lost on what to edit out.
hii! this mod is gorgeous, i love the lace patterning on the one veil, it looks lovely! is there any way you could make this mod compatible with the wine and revelry satyr race mod by labotor? i'd love to be able to use this mod with my satyr durge!! <3
Hi! I've used this mod previously and everything works fine, but since I've installed Unique Tav I can't get the veil toggle to work. Is this a compatibility issue?
That is a good question, it should not have compatibility issues unless somehow the veils have a common Unique ID with Unique Tav.... Can you test uninstalling Utav PAK and see if the toggle works? Probably test it on a new save.
Apologies, upon testing it's not Unique Tav mod, which I tried on a new save and reloading old save without UTav. I've checked again and upon closer inspection the toggle still works (I chose the dangly lacy headdress thing so it was hard to see in the darkness of tutorial, my bad), but there is a message that said [INSERT VISUAL NAME HERE] appearing instead of your character name as usual, which made me thought it wasn't working. I still haven't found which mod caused that but if I found the cause I will update.
Sorry again for my mistake.
PS. Could CC colors mod cause this? I installed a few hair mods and clothing mods but that did not cause any issue before and the only other thing I install that wasn't in those categories were the Color mod.
Where does that [INSERT VISUAL NAME HERE] message appear exactly? The toggle itself might have missing or confusing name and and description, but as long as the toggle works it shouldn't matter.
So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I was trying to follow the tutorial to change the metal in the gold chain headpiece to silver and the gems to dark red, and I've triple checked that I changed absolutely nothing else but the color for those pieces (I was using the unpacked beard version). I repacked the mod no trouble, added it to BG3MM, checked it was activated and exported, checked when loading a save that the game is recognizing a new mod, and yet when I go into the mirror or even start a new game, not a single veil shows up. I checked the base versions to make sure it's not something else conflicting, but the regular un-customized version shows up just fine, and looks beautiful. Even weirder, the "none" option at the end is the only thing that shows up when I use the customized version, meaning my game is recognizing something. I tried fiddling with the load order to no avail. I even went back and tried changing it to just silver (the shade you recommended) with no gem changes, in case I'd messed up with the color I'd chosen for them, but no luck. Any idea what I could be happening? I'm baffled. I'll be using your mod either way, because it's gorgeous, but there's one character I'd really love a silver chain for.
Okay weirdly I updated my .NET and repacked and now it's working?? My multitool didn't say it needed an update so I hadn't thought to try it. But now my headpiece looks absolutely perfect and I'm so excited for my next playthrough! Thanks for the amazing mod.

I really like this mod and id love to use it on console if somehow possible.
