    If the class isn't showing up:

    • Your load order is probably wrong. Compatibility Framework needs to be at the very end of your load order and Community Library needs to be at the beginning. These are required for subclasses to play nicely with each other.
    • Make sure your Script Extender is up to date.

    Can I play this at level 12?

    • Yes, you just won't get the 13+ abilities.

    Does it matter if I use Expansion or Unlock Level Curve?

    • No.

    If you're missing basic Sorcerer spells, you likely have something breaking Sorcerer progression. Known culprits are Divine Soul, Divine Soul Level 20 and Compatibility Patch, or Divine Soul Sorcerer (Standalone Class). All of these mods have major issues and really shouldn't be used unless they're fixed. Use the Revised version instead. 

    Known Issues:

    • Shadow puppy doesn't get temporary HP. I'll figure it out eventually.
    • Strength of the Grave may or may not actually work. Please let me know if it does, it's hard to test with the number of conditions it has. 
    • Shadoweaver spells aren't upcastable. I don't really know why. I'm going to release the spells as a separate mod anyway so I'm not too worried about it.

    Hi, I'm having an issue where the Hound keeps spamming the battle log with losing and recieving the conditions of Shadow Blend, See Invisibility, and Revealed. The hound also turned into a black blob and is absolutely CRIPPLING my framerate. I'm dropping to 5-7 fps in some fights when this is happening. Is there anything I can do to help mitigate this? I love this class and I'm buildng my entire party around it but it's getting borderline unplayable when his FX start popping up like crazy.

    On another note, is there anyway you could give the Hound a way to jump/hide? Maybe even give them the ability to teleport to their master like the shadowspawn has? It tends to get stuck pretty often and is a ginormous pain in the ass sometimes.

      That's weird, I've never encountered that. From your screenshots I'm inclined to think there's something conflicting. It isn't called Shadow Mastiff in my files, it should show up as Hound of Ill Omen. I'll have to look at it later. I can probably add a teleport or something. You can also use Teleport Party To You Spell.

      damn, I had a feeling it was a conflict of some sort. I'm currently playing with a gigantic modlist called Listonomicon so I wouldn't be shocked if there was a conflict somewhere. should I be looking at mods that change the mastiff/shadow creatures to find a conflict?

    Hey this seems like a fantastic mod, and I'd really like to try it out.  But I'm using strictly the in-game mod manager and despite downloading and installing everything, the icon still isn't showing up.  I've been able to use third party mods (Nexus mods) without any issue for the most part with the in-game MM.  Do I have to use a third party mod manager to make this work since it seems to require a very specific order?  In-game defaults everything to alphabetical order and no matter the tweaks I use to try to change that, the order remains the same.

    Thanks for all the work you've put into this.  Even if I may not be able to use it, it all looks really impressive!  Hoping to give it a try.  :)

      I found that you can edit the modsettings.lsx file to rearrange the mod order, BUT -- After doing that for this mod (with all the additions it requires), it would crash when it tried to load into a new game.  Not sure what was going on.  Maybe a conflict with another mod, or the order just did something weird?

      But that might be worth trying for you since it seems whatever script was enabling reordering of mods in the BG3 MM interface, has been disabled.  If you do try to edit the lsx file itself and manage to get it working, could you please let me know what you did?  I'd love to try out this mod.  It seems really well thought out.

      If it crashes for you, uninstalling the mods seemed to remedy that.

      You need Compatibility Framework.

      I had Compatibility Framework installed through the in-game MM and reordered it in the modsettings.lsx file.  It startedl crashing unfortunately :c  It changed the initial game screen though (the one that usually shows Baldur's Gate and down into Bhaal's Temple) to a beach cove of sorts.  It was pretty neat :D  But whenever I tried to load a new game, it'd say something about disconnecting from server, then crash.

      Beginning means the very top of the load order correct?  And end would be the bottom?  That's how I had it installed based on your sticky post.

      I'm all for trying any ideas you might have.  Thanks for the response :)

      I don't know what would be causing your issues then. It's not something I can replicate on my end, so I would guess there's another mod in your load order causing problems.

    i love the ingame mod manager but its so sad to miss out on quality subclasses like yours. cant wait to use our mod manager and this mod in my next run

      wait are you saying you could? does the requirements of script extention, 5e spells, vault vfx, compat framework and your other classes etc not make it impossible to do?

      I'd have to adapt some things but yeah most can be made compatible. Nexus version would still be the best version however, since mods uploaded that way have limitations. It just takes some time.

    Hello, I have a question. After installing the patch with spells from blackguard, I can no longer summon Hound, there is no spell icon. Is that how it's meant to be, or is it a mistake?

    Strength of the Grave indeed does not work, sadly. I don't think it even attempts making that Cha ST. Most likely just a simple engine limitation or some such, since even zombies don't make that 5e Con ST, but instead they get back up with 1 hp just once. Unless the damage was radiant or a crit, then they just die outright, of course. Even the shadow magic sorcerer that Larian is throwing in doesn't make a check for it.

    So I think a neat workaround would be to just yoink the Undead Fortitude.

      Guess I didn't update the description but I'm pretty sure changed it a while back to just be undead fortitude because the conditions were a pain to get working

      I see. Well, if it's supposed to be Undead Fortitude, then that's not working either. Could maybe try just adding the Half-Orc's Relentless Endurance? Then see if you can edit that further.

    Hey Dude i use this mod since a lot and i really lovve it. Use it in all my runs, really it can't miss, expecially i love the shadoweaver spells version it match perfectly with the class and with my evil and darkness runs! So TY very much for this awsome class!!

    In the last run i got this problem....some shadoweaver spells do not work, it do the animation but no dmg and no effect and in the combat log it just say "gale use curse of lethargy or decay". Curse of shadow work and apply shadow curse on target, but decay and lethargy not work and im afraid cuz it a really good spells and usefull and are the core of the class! That spells does not work on blackguard class too!!

    Any idea why? I have divine soul stand alone version, it possibly a conflict with it?

      I know I need to update that patch but it wouldn't break the spells. I don't know why they're not working correctly for you, iirc I tested this a while back and couldn't replicate it. 

      Most of the Divine Soul mods are busted and cause problems, I would only recommend the revised version. Try removing it and see if it's the source of your woes.

      i removed the divine soul standalone version, but spell still not work. I tried put both blackguard and shadow sorcery mod on bottom of my order for give them priority in some way but nothing...i also try respec after that changing but same. Honestly idk what else try for make it work good! I got Sorcerer 2024 changes too, maybe is it? i tring check all mod that touch sorcerer idk if that can help....

      Really sad play that class without using his curses :((

      edit: Someone on my Blackguard page mentioned a missing VFX library breaking a spell, best I can suggest is to make sure you have all the requirements.

    Have you thought of maybe just activating Devil Sight while concentrating on the darknes spell? This way it would be pretty close to 5e

    Class not showing up

    So I know it's pinned too, but I have Compatibility framework at the very bottom and Community Libary at the very top.  The class still doesn't show.


    P.S I just saw why after looking at the changelogs. ignore everything I've said lmao

      I've also tried Just having this mod, and its requirements enabled, with Libary at the very top of the list and Compatability framework at the bottom.

      I've also tried redownloading all the mods and it still doesn't appear.

      Yeah, I added the native compatibility that was added in patch 7 but it's super buggy atm. I removed it from my other mods until it's fixed but it looks like I forgot to upload this one.

      gave the update a quick test. ehh still doesn't appear for me. Could just be me though. won't know until more people try it out

      Can confirm it's showing up just fine. Make sure you have Compatibility Framework installed correctly.
