If you're using "Guts" head from Dissidia's Heads - T2 and T4 - then you should use [More_Stoic_Expressions]. This exact head uses one of animations for non-muscular characters for some reason.
Edit: I've managed to fix Ascended Astarion's "bitey" kiss. Your character will no longer stare at him with a stinky face after receiving a kiss Download either [More_Stoic_Expressions_AA_KISS (non-replacer)] or [MOXI_Nightingales_Lord_Astarion_standard_v2] Check the footage to see how the edited kiss looks like Edit 2: made sure it truly works on everyone and re-uploaded the files
it should be compatible with the majority of head mods but i also had plans on remaking it in the toolkit, so it'll be 100% compatible with all heads (yeah, even with all gith heads)
the files replace all facial animations, even for npcs that use the same heads. that's why i kept it separate, so less npcs would be affected but if you want the whole game world to be stoic i can totally merge all files together and upload this version
Is there any chance you can separate by race or teach me how to do so or is this limited by how the game uses animations on certain heads?
I don't want all smaller men and women in the World to be stoic but I do want Drow to be more stoic than most due how they're treated by others (and how they often treat each other).
Would be even better if we could control HOW stoic the expressions are, on a scale of 1-3 or 1-5 or potentially leave the more contextually malicious smiles intact whilst removing the benevolent smiles? Is this impossible? Can Custom Animation Library aid at all?
Tripster369 Hello there! If you want it to work only on some certain races you can unpack the mod with bg3 modder's multitool and go into [Public\Shared\Assets\Characters\_Anims]. After that you can remove the races you don't need it to work on and pack the mod again If it's a bit too confusing, i can dm you the file that should affect drow and elves only (drow and elves use the same set of animations)
And i looked at what Custom Animation Library does and it's great for editing body animations, but it can't be used to edit facial expressions to edit facial expressions, the files of the required/used heads would have to be edited Maybe all that could be done better in the official modding tools, but i haven't learned how to use them yet
Step 1a: Install the Mod "More_Stoic_Expressions" Step 1b: I recommend, well if you're up to date, that you should also download "FixAAKissExpression_All_Neutral_Patch_7"
Step 2: Open BG3 and in the main menu, click "Mod Manager"
Step 3: *UNDER INSTALLED* Enable the mod "More_Stoic_Expressions" and the mod "FixAAKissExpression_All_Neutral_Patch_7" if you have downloaded that as well
Done! You should find no issues with your facial animations anymore
No. I had issues with male gith and for some reason only managed to make it work on their first head only Since patch7 released I can try again and see if new files could make a difference.
Hey! Question about uninstalling / disabling the mods.
We have been trying to disable and uninstall Stoic Expressions in BG3MM but it causes our games to be unloadable. Is there a way to safely disable this mod and keep our saves?
mods that go into override can usually be removed with no issues but if it caused an issue ig i can try to DM you the empty mod file with the same uuid. maybe this'll help which file(s) did you use btw?
I only used the More_Stoic_Expressions.pak, but yeah we tried to both disable it or remove it completely it would all still be wonky. That would definitely be helpful (really hoping aaaaah) thank you!
hi there i know this is an override but it seems that even overrides if installed through bg3mm pops up as a clickable(ticking the check box) in the in game mod manager. do i need to click it there to make it work or just leave it unticked?
I didn't fully figure it out just yet, but from what i've seen and understood, override mods don't need to be enabled in the in-game mod manager to work at least Distinctive Dyes which is an override mod worked for me without being activated in the in-game mod manager Let me know if mod won't be working though. and i'll try to fix it
alright i havent really been far along to try it had to restart because i had 4 mods that was invalid for patch 7(no boxes to tick in the ingame mod manager)
i started a dragonborn this time and so far he had some expressive.. well expressions lol perhaps its because ive never made a dragonborn so im not familiar enough to know if its 'vanilla' or moded. i will see if i can make my normal tiefling toon and check their expressions.
So I have been searching around about overrides and I read something about them no longer existing and therefore have to be put on the load order. Like in BG3MM where you can right click an override file at the bottom and click 'Allow in load order'. I came across it when I was trying to look for a way to update a mod that is invalid for patch 7 and might have been abandoned. I'm not sure if I can link it here (its a reddit post in the bg3 subreddit). I can send you the link if you wish through dm.
I'm sorry for asking stupid question but are main files for ''More stoic facial expressions'' compatible with patch 7? Also can I use many files at the same like for Half-Orcs, Strong Bodies and Dragonborn? E: Nvm, you answered that question below, yes they can be used together.
Just wondering, does this mod work on Origins other than Tav? I've just started a playthrough as Gale and have noticed that he also suffers from the over-the-top fear and shock expressions etc
origins use their own, unique set of facial expression files, so "Tav versions" won't work on them. if you need a version for origin character(s) i can make one you need one for Gale, right?
making another post because ive tried using all the files and it still doesnt work :(( does the order of the mod have anything to do with it? should it be in the overrides section or the normal section?
I'm just using all versions of the mod put together into a single mod and check if it works. If it does then I remove some animation files to figure out when it stops working And if it doesn't work from the very beginning them I'm just grabbing and editing some extra files and using them to see if anything changes and thanks for pointing out the exact head. Gonna check and see why it's not working
Cennixx, LYNLVL i've tried vemperen's heads mod and my [More_Stoic_Expressions] worked fine on Danestra head and yeah, file should go to overrides, so mod order doesn't matter because you can't even set it for this mod
Thanks for checking! Do you know of any mod that could conflict with it? I've tried other head mods like XX's female head and Toarie's Tuuia head with SH's replacer version and they work fine, so I think its just the main version that's being affected for me? Because the vanilla heads also don't work ;u;
Edit: Nvm I just re-downloaded the file again and it works! for both vemperen's heads and vanilla heads XD

If you're using xx's New Female Head Preset and New Character Creation Presets WIP (Tuiia head), then use a [More_Stoic_Expressions_Shadowheart] file. Those heads use her animations
