@actualsailorcat But you did technically buff this one already. Since controllable pawn is more useful then an AI-controlled one. ;P
@yang0723 10 is quite normal for a single combat spell, nothing short about it. "till long rest" should stay reserved for normal summons. Dominate is about turning the tide of a specific combat, since it gives +1 creature to your side and -1 to the enemy side. Expecting it to last longer is just plain greedy.
But if you do have an urge to play pokemon in forgotten realms there are already 2 mods for that on nexus. Both are kinda OP though. But that's exactly the expected outcome of an ability to make allies out of enemies when it's not properly limited. So be ready to self-police if challenge matters to you.
Does this work with Split Enchantment? I read somewhere that Split Enchantment was bugged with Dominate Person in Patch 6, but I don't know if they fixed it in Patch 7, or if your changes fix it etc.
Fun+Unpolished=Mysterious? I haven't exactly been following their progress over the years, but I've played Divine Divinity, which, unless I'm mistaken was their first game. Lots of brave and experimental ideas in that one but also lots of bugs and other kinds of rough edges as a result. And now the more I learn about BG3 the more of a resemblance I see between the work behind the two of them.
Especially the option to pick up a container and lug it around like it's a suitcase, bloody nostalgic that one. XD
Lol yeah, from what I've seen in past games, they've had quite a few solid and interesting ideas, but that usually comes with its fair share of bugs and mysterious stuff in exchange.
Tried to do this a while ago, managed to capture any npc, forever, but they couldn't follow through loading screens, and I couldn't control them nor get their avatar to show up like summons. Kudos!
Can you keep the controlled creatures or do they break free again after a while? (questioning this because someone described the mod as a Pokemon in BG3)
They still break free. It doesn't change the base spell mechanics in any way outside of bringing them closer to 5e functionality in the context of control.
