This mod supports progression to Level 20, but I want normal progression to only 12. So, if I don't use UnlockLevelCurve, will I getTouch of the Long Death at level 12?
No that would be completely unbalanced to get a capstone ability designed for 17th level characters and 17th level encounters at level 12. Why would anyone want that or think that is fair? If you want to play the game using the level 12 cap then play the mod balanced for level 12 progression
Yes - just use the same mod. This is all taken from tabletop DnD source material. if you play to 12th level then you get the 1-12 abilities. If you play to 20th you get the 1-20 abilities. Nothing in Baldurs Gate 3 is balanced to give a level 20 ability at level 12.
Have pretty much decided not rebuild using the toolkit - with my schedule it would take me months unless an import feature is released so just gonna stick with things as third party but I need to figure out some UI things before I get updates released
"I know this has been released before under the Alternate Monk mod, but I felt this still had a place as a RAW version of the subclass."
To be honest, I hope you decide to do the other monk subclasses as well, seeing as it appears that the dev for AM is no longer updating his mod, nor communicating with the people who are commenting on his mod. And seeing as it's broken as hell at this point due to missing updates, AM might as well be considered as not existing at all to begin with.
shame, the only RAW kensei mod I know of only goes to level 12. also yeah, alternate monk is kind of abandoned and I personally prefer larian's version of monk anyways. thank you immeensely for all the subclasses you have done thusfar, a gentleman and a scholar truly.
somethings wrong with your compat framework and community library setup can you see multiple custom subclasses from different subclass mods for other classes? Go grab two of my Barbarian or Fighter classes, load them and see if they both show up
I have actually my Community library (latest) at the top of the load order and also compatability framework (latest version too) at the end of my load order.
I do have different of your subclass (Beast, Battlerager, Zealot, etc) and they all show up. Same i also have samurai , rune knight etc.
I do not play monk and do not think I ever will, but when I told my friend she could have her favorite class again, she was very excited. Thanks a bunch!

Honestly, I feel like there need to be more RAW subclasses, because I've seen quite a few that are the subclass in name only and I'd rather have the RAW version than something that might as well be literally anything else. Like, when I choose a subclass, it's because I want the features it has, not a bunch of random other stuff.
Agree and it’s why I do my subclass mods the way that I do them. Long death is kind of a test since I had never done a monk before. I wanted to make sure that I could do a raw monk and add the level of detail that I aim for. I am pretty comfortable with it now and will be taking a stab at the other monk sub classes moving forward.
We make adjustments and changes to subclasses and classes because those RaW don't really work very well in BG3. If you want RaW that's fine but there's an insane amount of stuff in 5e that just straight up has no place in BG3 for whatever reason.
I understand adjustments to features that straight up do nothing in BG3 or wouldn't work almost at all (like College of Creation. A fully RAW implementation would be basically impossible). And my comment wasn't a slight against modders who make their own thing, so don't interpret it that way. Just celebrating things that can be added in RAW.

Actually came here to ask the same.
Yeah its almost done...
is there a version of this mod that is balanced for that?
I haven’t had access or time yet to do any updates but they will be coming
