For the people who have the launcher close immediately. The launcher uses your operating system's integrated WebView, so if you have an old system that doesn't have a WebView or some sort of weird Windows install where you've removed edge, it won't work.
If you have a normal, reasonably modern system, and still have issues, please let me know.
Any update for the launcher? Not working with BB 1.5.1.7. The launcher says "Unknown version of Battle Brothers, if there is a new version, make a GitHub issue."
I do it very quickly when I'm aware of an update, but I don't regularly check nexusmods. If anyone really wants the updates ASAP reach out to me on discord (I'm enduriel on any of the BB modding servers or the official overhype server).
I'll also try and show LordMidas how to do it because he seemed interested and is more on top of things these days.
You have j4j to thank for the last couple updates because they've been reaching out.
This is actually the project I'm most likely to continue working on as I'm pretty annoyed with the way normal mods have to be written because od minimal support for the language they are written in (squirrel). So maybe some useful stuff coming here one day.
Good to know! Many thanks to j4j and Lord Midas for his willingness to get involved too! Yeah, I think the mod support is not that great (never was tbh) but you the modders are surely keeping the game alive, after all these years and that's amazing!
After one use, launching the launcher nearly crashes my system (up to date W10 with webwiev installed, I tried to reinstall it as another user suggested but I had already installed, edge is installed too). I don't know what is happening but I'm afraid of using this (even when I think is mandatory), not even the launcher don't start but windows starts behaving like is about to crash, can't even launch task manager because it doesn't respond.
Even weirder, just trying to right click (my last attempt was to lauch it with admin privileges) nearly crasehd my system, screen went black, task manager unable to execute... after a few moments everthing seems normal again.
Since it seems I'm the only one having this problem it seems more like something weird is happening in my system.
The program should generate a log file (I think it makes a logs folder?), it should be pretty short so if you could send it here that'd be great to help debug the issue.
I reinstalled the game and your launcher, so far everything is going fine! I don't think you will need it but I pasted here the log, it says something about a library, but I guess is not important (ignorance is a bliss I guess xD). But even with the launcher, the steam version of the game is more unstable than the gog version.

Thanks for your work. Used it in the past for the Legends mod. Meanwhile I have transitioned to Linux. Wonder if you have an idea about a similar tool for the steam proton version of BB.
I'll confess I didn't think this was possible because I use some windows specific libraries but it turns out that might not matter, in order to make everything work nicely it would require more effort than I'm able to put in right now, but I've created a super janky completely untested first attempt that you can download and test here. Let me know if it does anything useful for you.
In order to make this into a real thing I'd need to make it a real linux package, and cleanup some build code for icons and stuff. Unfortunately I won't have time for that in the next month or two but after that I'd be down to take a look (remind me if I don't get around to it). I do wanna support linux gamers because you guys are paving the way for me to one day swap as well.

Problem was fixed after downloading and installing Evergreen Standalone Installer from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2?form=MA13LH
