Battlefield 1 has been updated with the same anti-cheat measures as Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield V. This new anti-cheat called EA Anti Cheat (EAAC) has made mods unusable as it has for Battlefield V. As of now, this mod and any others are unusable. Will try to find a workaround in the future if possible. Always appreciate everyone's support!
Not only did I pick the wrong time to come back to this game, but seeing the latest update for the Greatcoat version be that long ago makes me sad. I won't blame you if this never gets fixed, but I'll be waiting.
What a shame all these great reskin mods dont work anymore. I dont understand why DICE wont add official support for them. Did you or some other modder tried contacting them about it recently?
Awesome mod, the fidelity here is excellent. However, do you think you could possibly add a separate file that includes a more tidy/neat version of the French uniforms like in the 1916 mod (maybe just use some of those assets like you did for this one), instead of the really haggard ones in the base game. I really like the look of the french WWI uniform and I feel like besides the color and the adrian helmets that they really don't look discernable to the real-life counterpart- especially with the weird arm gauze and scarves around the collar.
I understand what you mean about the French, and I have tried to make them look as close to their irl counterparts without using custom uniforms. I would use custom uniforms for them but honestly I'm not that skilled at creating custom uniforms. HarlowLovesGaming was the one who provided custom uniforms for this mod among other things.
Although this mod uses many assets from the 1916 mod, the creator wished to keep the custom French uniforms exclusive to that mod. So due to that I did the best I could with the French by making the y straps look like French ones as well as slight model and texture edits for the uniforms. I also tried removing excess things like headwraps and arm guazes (although I left the guaze for 1P models since the arms look weird without them).
I'm personally happy with the result since although it is still kind of tacticool I think the uniforms represent a rugged and battle worn look for the French. Which I think suits them well. Though in the future I may try to add more "standard" looking uniforms to be more in line with the rest of the mod.
Hey I'm back after sabbatical so sorry about not replying for a while, but do you think you could just recolor the american uniforms to blue and replace the collar medals to look like the french uniform shirt without the greatcoat- they look almost identical. Then just use french assets?
I used to play this amazing mod, afterwards I switched to other games. Now I wanted to get back on it and EA ruined everything and rendered mods unstable and oudated... come on!!! I hope that, at least, they made the game impossible for cheaters now otherwise it's totally not worth it, they simply broke mods

another L for EA as cheaters are still in the game and nothing has so far solved the cheater problem GG
