Weapons from mods will not change ownership but they can be made compatible by copying and pasting the Vendor Trash item module from a base game weapon to the modules section of a mod weapon
EDIT: After much trial and error, the mod now works on all base game AND modded weapons without the need for you to do anything. I am sorry to anyone that was inconvenienced by the frequent updates to this mod. I was unable to test until late this evening and released several versions that didn't work, but the current one does. Thank you for your patience everyone.
Could you include an option that removes ownership when you drop something (only in missions ofc)? I don't like the idea of having my stuff magically returned to my home just because i "own" it.
couldn't that lead to archers accidentally despawning your stuff not because you lost it but because you didn't grab it before they fired enogh arrows?
hey kaji, idk whats going on and weather or not its me but i thought you should know just in case, for some reason recently whenever a have vendor trash in my mod file it stops me from playing the game, when its loading in my mods once it gets to vendortrash it freezes on 31% permenatly, im only able to load in completley once vt is removed from my files, i didnt change how i install it so i dont know why its suddenly not working anymore,do u think you could take an look at it?, i miss not being able too loot weapons :(
Hey! You may want to look through your mod list, if this is still an issue you're having it may have to do with a mod conflict, it runs just fine on my end :3
It does, but I think because of how nomad files work, I'm unable to find the rest of the weapons in the game to add them into the items folder to make it so all the weapons can be placed into the inventory, would you mind making it an optional file for those that want it as well?
Also most of the weapon attributes are duplicated in the inventory.
Hey, I have been searching for days on away to keep those sick as f*#@ ancient weapons, this mod appears the be the ONLY current way of allowing the em to be owned, and as I play on nomad I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask if you know a way to get them on that version? Is there a version of this mod for nomad?
I don't think it will work on armors. I don't even know how those behave because I have not used that mod.
Next time you play, can you take a piece of armor from an npc and put it on, and see if you keep it when you go to the home or shop? If you do i don't need to do anything. If you don't I will look into that
Hey, I was working on a patch that built off this mod and in the process I found a number of bugfixes and improvements, mostly increasing compatibility with other mods and game updates and allowing the "vendor trash" items such as books to actually be sold properly, since despite this mod giving them values the Baron will still not buy them. I'm planning on creating the improved .json files for my own personal use, but I'd be happy to share them if you want to incorporate the fixes and improvements yourself.
could you please share it somewhere? My problem is the mod doesn't seem to work anymore period. I would be extremely grateful if you could even show me how to get it working again so weapons are no longer considered stolen when holstered.
I am not sure what has bugged, but it appears that weapons don't swap to being owned after holstered. It could be bows, axes, swords, it still is marked as stole and gets dropped when leaving a dungeon. I love the idea of the mod because being able to pick up and use new weapons to keep would be lovely.
