This pack includes:
Polish officer‘s sabre
A parade uhlan saber made in accordance with the 1921 pattern was the most popular model of officer’s sabre in interwar Poland. This happened thanks to the decision of the Minister of Military Affairs from April 1921 unifying the cold weapon armament of the Polish Army.
Shepherd’s axe
a walking stick shaped like a highlander-type shepherd's ax, used as a hiking support. In the 19th century, walking sticks of this type were a popular accessory for an elegant urban gentleman.
Naval poignard
a long, lightweight thrusting knife with a continuously tapering, acutely pointed blade and crossguard, historically worn by the upper class, noblemen, or the knighthood. Similar in design to a parrying dagger, the poniard emerged during the Middle Ages and was used during the Renaissance in Western Europe, particularly in France, Switzerland, and Italy.
Wheellock pistol
ceremonial weapon taken as part of spoils of war from a 17th-century Polish military campaign.
Gilded mace
a historical weapon serving as military insignia. It was used in the School of Fine Arts in Kraków and was presented in the still art painted by Tomasz Lisiewicz
Weighted stick
This item is a tool for digging up tubers, edible roots and larvae. It was used as a digging stick or a primitive hoe.
Cross Dagger
part of Manchester University’s Ethnographic Art Collection.
Ancient Scissors
The scissors come from an unusual grave examined in 2000 at a cemetery in the village of Szarbia in the Proszowice district.
Double-barrel flintlock handgun
The flintlock handgun shows many signs of usage - it lacks one lock plate and has several brass sheet patches. It cannot be excluded that the other lock is missing, the one that helped the powder ignite in the lower barrel.
A knife with a fish shaped handle and an unrecognized engraving. Found during one of the research expeditions organized by the Ethnographic Museum in Sofia.
Hala Knife
a hala knife for a Saturday dinner. The inscription the right means in honor of the Sabbath. The exhibit belonged to Asher J. Scharf, who donated it to the Museum in 2002.
Yad
The venom in the Chrzanów collection consists of three parts and is beautifully decorated. Thanks to the punches on the silver parts of the device, we know the date of its creation: 1895.
Miner's Axe
The mining axes (Bergbarten) come from Saxony and are related to the excavation of silver ore, copper and lead.
Celtic Bronze & Iron Sword
The Celtic Hallstatt culture – 8th century BC – figured among the early users of iron. During the Hallstatt period, the same swords were made both in bronze and in iron.
Gold Evgraved Mace
The mace is a ceremonial weapon taken as part of spoils of war from a 17th-century Polish military campaign.
khanda sword
The khanda is a double-edge straight sword originating from the Indian subcontinent. It is often featured in religious iconography, theatre and art depicting the ancient history of India.
