About this mod

This mod is the culmination of datamine, content cut from the game and a lot of effort and thousands, I'm not exaggerating, thousands of hours of reworked models, textures and much more.
In these almost 10 years of Bloodborne we've been united playing this game and I hope this serves as a gift from a fan to the fans

Magnum Opus is a mod which focuses on primarily changing the lighting of many levels in the game
along with their skyboxes. The mod also addresses problems related to
assets that were never done properly by FromSoftware or the removal
of unnecessary things left in the scenarios like the floating statues
in Old Yharnam and other issues of the same nature. Because of the
nature of this mod, minor problems could still happen, be aware of
it. I don’t have the proper tool used by From Software and its
team.


But that’s not all ofwhat this mod actually does.


It has a new second version which focuses on expanding the experience of
the player throughout the game, using your prior knowledge of the
vanilla game and surprising you with a new experience half way
through the game. This mod has two updates: the first, which focuses
on expanding the vanilla like lighting and making fewer additions to
the levels but maintaining the same experience as before, and the
second version which is the recent title of the mod, PROJECT BEAST,
focuses on not only bringing back features and elements of the game
that were never released or all together scrap out of the game during
development – enemies, items, weapons and even Chalice levels; but
the mod also focuses on a new take of the game using the prior
knowledge and experience of the vanilla to enhances and surprise the
player throughout its journey in Yharnam. That not only goes about
the enemies and its placements, but the lighting of the game as well,
where it takes more of an artistic choice in its approach than
properly replicating the vanilla experience, so we hope everyone
likes this new take on Bloodborne.


Whatwere these specific changes, you may ask? Unfortunately, you gonna
have to play the game to properly understand how much it has changed,
but here some of the changes we brought to this mod for you to have a
better taste of what’s to come. Before that, i wanna give a big

•Project Beast Restoration! NewHud to resemble the alpha version, but reimagined. (Thanks,Anonim01)


•Warp Chair and Gremia Statuerestored


•Re-imaginedLighting: a new take on the lighting of the game – fairwarning: the game is now reallydark at closed spaces
without any incidence of light, so the usage of Torch and/or Lamp is highly recommended and incentivised.


•Re-visionedRunes: They received buffs to make the player feel more powerful during their journey, after all there are new dangers
lurking at Yharnam.


•Revisioned Textures in Bosses: some Vanilla bosses had their textures changed to match their original concepts.


•Enemies Placement: Enemieswill change their placements along with the time of day in some
locations


•Enemies were added in Central Yharnam, Cathedral Ward and a few more locations


•Removed Rom statue from Altar of Despair


•Dying during FatherGascoigne’s fight activates a cut dialogue!


•Yharnam is a coastal town: Youcan see the sea from the bridge leading to the Gascoigne at Central
Yharnam, for example. Other places that it’s visible is at
Cathedral ward through various angles and at Hemwick as well.


•Mensis is visible from Cathedral Ward; Upper Cathedral is visible from Mensis.


•Laurence model added to ‘Adage’ cinematic (Thanks, ku8uu)


•Bloodletting Beast skull added to Laurence, The First Vicar model


•Amelia and Cleric Beast are more tough now! If you can't kill them, explore other areas and come
back later. Get stronger!

It’s worth mentioning that when installing the mod, make sure you play in a new fresh save or you
will lose a bunch of content or all ofthis content! Don’t rob yourself of the experience we prepared for
you every since the first minute of the game.

Knownissues and Updates:
-I tested everything extensively, but i have a Playstation 4 PRO. It’s
possible that sometimes it will have some random crash when using the
60fps patch or debug menu, so the ideal is to play Bloodborne at
30fps; You can use the patch created by Illusion to reach thestable 30 fps.
-Problem with the lava effect during Laurence's fight in the DLC, the
lava glow is a bit too strong.
-I have partially solved the water reflection effect in the central
Yharnam sewer, but maybe there is still some errors that it still
exists in the retail version.
-Probably some visual effects will have problems (weird glow), so
report to me if it’s the case. I try to test it everything but I
could not test everything, there’s so much content for it.
-Mensis Lod was changed: Surprise.
-Vanilla DOF
-No Chromatic aberration
-Someone noticed a bug with Bloody Alfred set and female characters.
The hotfix is out in the MANDATORY UPDATE!


The MANDATORY UPDATE brings lots of hotfixes to the game, but before
reading the updates that this mandatory update brings, make
sure to use it with a freshnew install please!


• It fixes the wrong player position at Mensis chair before wet nurse! Use
it to avoid problems with scaling, visual hud bugs with gem slots and
more.


•This new update has come with new SFXs to Fauna, Silver Beast of Loran (Great One Beast)!


•Fix the tombstone of Gremia to return from Unlucid Beast Chalices to Hunters Dream.


•Some shadps4 users report acrash with the ladder before the Old Yharnam lamp using 60fps patch,
but it works well in 30fps.


•Fixing the %missing name% and Old Yharnam’s crash with the Werewolfs


•Some Amds users from Shadps4 reported a crash right after entering the Underground Path to Old
Yharnam and fight with some werewolfs, but just running and reaching
the lamp looks ok.


Disclaimersand Final Notes:


A small disclaimer: This works on any version of Bloodborne! I just put
it on the CUSA i used. If you prefer, just use the entire contents of
the “dvdroot_ps4” folder. 


The reduction in warps is intentional, it’s not bugged, so that people
can explore the map and its changes during the night and specially
during the Blood Moon.
Remove a file inside the Script > talk > folder,
m21_00_00_00.talkesdbnd so you'll have an easy and comfortable
version

Also a small note: In case you didn’t
like the new font I’m using – which is the font they used in
early versions of Bloodborne, there is a way to solve it: there are
two folders: enggb and engus. Before installing, just remove both of
them.


Thegame looks TOO DARK? I always use Bloodborne in Brightness 5 in my tv on default settings
and i have noticed that people are changing the contrast on shadps4
because the game on PS4 has a gray scale. I don't know what to do
about it, the whole mod is dark but not impossible to see on a TV
with default settings and Warm Color 2, so feel free to use at
Brightness 10.


BUGS: All my tests were on the PS4 PRO.
Djura's audio can stutter or repeat, trees in Forbidden Woods blink, something like the floor
doesn't load, all this i noticed a few times, always after a long
time playing, just reload, exit to Homescreen and return to the game,
it works every time on the console – it does work on the emulator
as well if the problem is revolving around the game itself, not the
emulator.


If you see something like the big iron door before Gascoignes’
daughter missing, or enemies invisible or even stairs and doors
missing: Reload the game.


One last thing: i don't use any other mod so i don't know about their
compatibility since all i did was using my own Playstation 4.
Preferably, don't change the files that my mod already uses to avoid
bugs.
